Chris Cobb, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Operations) and COO, University of London, spoke at the British Educational Training and Technology Show (BETT) on Friday 23rd January 2015, at the ExCel Centre in London. Chris attended the Technology in Higher Education Summit, speaking in a seminar entitled, ‘Reducing operational costs: Enhancing your university's efficiency to achieve financial savings’, chaired by Tim Marshall, CEO, Jiscom.

BETT is the world’s largest education technology event, a global gathering of technology brands and the education market. In 2014, the show attracted over 35,000 visitors from approximately 113 countries, as well as 700 exhibitors including Samsung, Google, and Microsoft, as well as a number of smaller start-up companies.

Chris and other prominent individuals discussed how to invest in technology to reduce the operational costs of running a university, in order to create a sustainable, cost effective, and environmentally friendly institution.

Chris has a lifetime of experience, successfully implementing these principles at the University of London, as well as his current work leading a programme that aims to expand the range of services provided by the University alongside other businesses.
