Lighting up University’s multi-million pound project
Creating a bespoke, digital, addressable light strip system, LED strip lighting manufacturer Maxilux has enabled the remote control of an impressive clock at City University of London. The 2m wide installation, which is part of a multi-million pound project to provide an inspiring environment for students and academics, is sunken into the floor and can be set to 24hr, red or white displays, as well as set to turn on/off at certain times.
Exploring the physics of a chocolate fountain
A mathematics student has worked out the secrets of how chocolate behaves in a chocolate fountain, answering the age-old question of why the falling 'curtain' of chocolate surprisingly pulls inwards rather than going straight downwards.
