iCatch selects Synopsys' IP for digital video & image SoCs
iCatch Technology has selected Synopsys' portfolio of DesignWare IP, scalable FPGA-based prototyping system and trusted professional design services for its digital video and image SoC. They adopted the silicon-proven DesignWare USB 2.0 picoPHY, Gen 2 DDR multiPHY and controllers, HDMI 2.0 TX PHY, data converter and audio analogue codec IP.
iCatch also adopted Synopsys' HAPS-70 FPGA-based prototyping system for faster IP prototyping and to enable early hardware/software integration and system validation. iCatch is turning to Synopsys professional design services to meet their area, power and time-to-market requirements.
Tek Wei, Executive Vice President, iCatch Technology, commented: "As a leading provider of SoCs for the digital video and image industry, iCatch is committed to providing products that deliver innovative features while meeting cost, quality and performance requirements. We have designed more than forty SoCs to address digital still, action and automotive cameras, with more than 200m SoCs shipped since our inception. For our next-gen SoC supporting 4K Ultra HD video encoding, we selected Synopsys because of its unmatched portfolio of silicon-proven IP, HAPS prototyping systems and design consultants with extensive physical implementation experience. This combination provided us the lowest risk path to meeting our project schedules and delivering differentiated products to our customers."
"As iCatch develops their next-generation SoCs for digital video and image applications, they are relying on Synopsys to provide trusted IP, prototyping and design consulting solutions that help them quickly incorporate the necessary functionality and accelerate their time-to-market.
