Formula E technology partnership moves into top gear
Last weekend’s race in Montreal marked the end of an exciting season of the world’s first electric racing series. The hard battle has been won; Lucas di Grassi (pictured) is the new Formula E world champion. ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation obtained for Shenzhen lab
Manufacturer of electronic and electromechanical components, Würth Elektronik eiSos, strengthens the company’s test lab in the Shenzhen subsidiary responsible for its Chinese plants. The China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) has now extended and expanded accreditation of the lab in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025: 2005. Accreditation of the Würth Elektronik eiSos laboratory in Shenzhen has been extended and expanded in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025: 2005 by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). The Shenzhen subsidiary is responsible for Wuerth Elektronik eiSos’s Chinese plants.

Flat wire power inductor offers higher saturation current
A flat wire power inductor with very high current loading capacity and efficiency has been introduced by Würth Elektronik eiSos, the WE-HCF in a 2815 package. The latest member of the WE-HCF series is loadable up to 36A and attains saturation currents up to 125A. With its large wire cross-section, the inductor offers a 13% lower resistance than comparable products on the market and attains an up to 82% higher saturation current.

Wurth Electronics Midcom has announced new data isolation transformers for use in SHDSL applications. These MID-DSLITL transformers are built on a self-shielding EP package, offer longitudinal balance and THD performance. They are designed to meet UL & IEC standards and a dielectric of 1,500VAC.

With REDCUBE PRESS-FIT, Würth Elektronik eiSos offers high current contacts, which, thanks to their press-fit termination resulting in cold welding, boast two advantages: a mechanically extremely robust connection and minimal contact resistance. REDCUBE PLUG expands this product group with an innovative terminal module for detachable wire-to-board connections. REDCUBE PLUG is also suited for tool-free assembly in hard-to-access places.
Transmitter coils featured in wireless charging system
Semtech’s LinkCharge 20 now features Wurth Electronics wireless charging coils, created for charging high-power applications. The company claims that LinkCharge 20 is the only available inductive wireless charging system beyond 15W that is backwards compatible. It uses a proprietary protocol for transmitter/receiver communication up to 20W, and is also fully backwards compatible to existing standards at 5-15W.
