Avionics sees first MIL-PRF-39006/33-grade capacitor
The hermetically sealed wet tantalum capacitor M39006/33, released for the avionics and aerospace industries by Vishay Intertechnology, is claimed to be the first MIL-PRF-39006/33-qualified capacitor on the market and offers reliability in line with the exacting standards of the United States military.
Stud-mount edgewound power resistor operates to 85A
A stud-mount version of the EDGS edgewound power resistor from Vishay Intertechnology has been released. Combining a high-reliability design with continuous duty operation up to 85A and a short-time overload of ten times rated power for five seconds, the resistor provides a drop-in replacement for competing solutions.
Capacitors last for 10,000 hours in heavy-duty applications
Designed for traction and heavy-duty applications, Vishay Intertechnology has announced a series of screw-terminal power aluminium capacitors. Operating over a temperature range from -40 to +85°C, the 110 PHT-ST series is rated for a useful life of 10,000 hours and high ripple current to 19.76A at +85°C.
IGBT power modules provide easy thermal management
Designed for string solar inverters and medium-power-range UPS, IGBT power modules have been released by Vishay Intertechnology. For easy thermal management, the company have combined Trench IGBTs, HEXFRED and FRED Pt diode technologies and thermistors within a single solution. The modules' integrated design allows designers to reduce time-to-market and improve overall system performance.
MLCCs provide capacitance tolerance down to ± 0.05pF
The QUAD HIFREQ series of high-power MLCCs, manufactured by Vishay Intertechnology, have been enhanced. The MLCCs feature non-magnetic copper terminations (code "C"), an extended capacitance range down to 0.1pF in the 0505 case size and 0.2pF in the 1111 size, and tighter capacitance tolerance down to ± 0.05pF (code "V").
AEC-Q101-qualified rectifiers reduce switching losses
Reducing switching losses and over-dissipation in automotive and telecomms applications, Vishay has announced 27 4-10A FRED Pt Hyperfast and Ultrafast recovery rectifiers. The AEC-Q101-qualified devices combine extremely fast and soft recovery characteristics with low leakage current and low forward voltage drop, typically down to 0.72V in single- and dual-die configurations.

Resistor divider network offers an absolute tolerance to 1%
Offering a compact, higher-precision alternative to products built on thick film technology, the HVRD high-voltage, thin film resistor divider network has been released by Vishay Intertechnology. An absolute tolerance to 1%, ratio tolerance to 0.1%, absolute TCR as low as ±50ppm/°C and TCR tracking of ±10ppm/°C are provided by the divider network.
Rectifier's high efficiency suits telecomms power supplies
Offering current ratings of 5-30A, Vishay Intertechnology has announced the introduction of 15 200V Gen-2 TMBS (Trench MOS Barrier Schottky) rectifiers. Providing high-efficiency for telecomms power supplies and LED lighting applications, the V(B,I)T5202, V(B,I)T10202C, V(B,I)20202G, V(B,I)20202C and V(B,I)30202C rectifiers feature typical low forward voltage drops of 0.65V at 15A.
500V MOSFETs' switching speed increases efficiency
Providing low conduction and switching losses, Vishay Intertechnology has announced the first MOSFETs in a 500V family. The low on-resistance and optimised switching speed of the SiHx25N50E devices allows them to increase efficiency and power density in PFC, two-switch forward converter and flyback converter applications.
Optocouplers' safety isolation suits solar inverters
Expanding its VOW Widebody family of high-isolation optocouplers, Vishay has announced a series of devices which achieve 1 and 10MBd data rates. The VOW135, VOW136, VOW137 and VOW2611 optocouplers consist of a GaAIAs infrared emitting diode, optically coupled with an integrated photo detector.
Achieve over 70% efficiency for wireless charging
Designed for portable electronics such as tablets, notebook computers and handheld medical equipment, Vishay has announced a wireless charging receiving coil for 10W applications. The WPC-compliant IWAS-4832FE-50 provides rated current of 2A, enabling 10W of charge at 5V and efficiency greater than 70%.

At electronica 2014, Vishay Intertechnology will be exhibiting a range of it's capacitors, resistors, inductors, diodes, power ICs, optoelectronics and power MOSFETs. Photodiodes provide 9.5µA high reverse light current
Targeting photo detection in applications such as light curtains, light barriers, metering systems, switches and rain and sun sensors, Vishay has announced two automotive-grade high-speed silicon PIN photodiodes. The VEMD6010X01 and VEMD6110X01 provide a high reverse light current of 9.5µA (three times that of previously released devices, according to Vishay) and a very low dark current of 1nA.
Power stages integrate high- & low- side MOSFETs
Delivering currents in excess of 60A per phase, a family of integrated DrMOS power stages has been announced by Vishay Intertechnology. The SiC620 power stages integrate high- and low-side TrenchFET Gen IV n-channel MOSFETs (which are claimed to offer industry-benchmark on-resistance), an advanced MOSFET driver IC and a bootstrap Schottky diode.
Automotive resistors offer resistances of 1Ω to 1MΩ
Vishay Intertechnology has announced that the MC AT professional series automotive thin film chip resistors are AEC-Q200 qualified over resistances from 1Ω to 1MΩ. Operating over a temperature range from -55 to +175°C, the resistors are designed to deliver stability under harsh environmental conditions in automotive and industrial applications, rated for 1,000 hours at 175°C.
3A regulator targets space-constrained applications
Featuring a fixed 650kHz switching frequency and a wide input voltage range of 4.5-15V, Vishay Intertechnology has announced the SiP12116 integrated synchronous buck regulator. This 3A device is suited for PoL regulation and 5 and 12V rails in space-constrained computing, consumer electronics, telecomms and industrial applications.

Featuring gold terminations for conductive gluing, the MC ATAU series of precision thin film chip resistors has been unveiled by Vishay Intertechnology. Operating over a wide temperature range from -55 to +155°C, the AEC-Q200 qualified resistors feature tight tolerances to ±0.1% and TCR down to ±15ppm/K in 0402 and 0603 case sizes.
