Motorman hybrid connectors now available with secondary locking
TE Connectivity has extended its range of Motorman hybrid connectors for decentralised servo motors and servo drives, with a “Shroud” version that includes secondary locking for improved security. There is also a new cable crimped version available for cabinet applications. Motorman hybrid connectors integrate communication, signal and power transmission of locally controlled motors within a compact rectangular connector.
Highlights of next-gen data centre connectivity at DesignCon 2017
It has been announced that TE Connectivity (TE) will showcase its latest products and innovations at DesignCon 2017, the premier conference for chip, board and systems design engineers, from 31st January – 2nd February, in Santa Clara, California.
Internal cabled interconnects reach speeds of up to 25Gbps
TE Connectivity (TE) has launched Sliver internal cabled interconnects which, the company claims, provide one of the most flexible solutions in the market for making internal Input/Output (I/O) connections on the board.
SOLARLOK PV edge junction box suits application in solar panels
TE Connectivity has introduced the SOLARLOK PV Edge, a junction box designed for bifacial and half-cut solar panel applications. This junction box has several advantages over centralised junction boxes, such as enabling savings in cross-connect foil material usage, in labor involved in routing the foils, and in installation time. Shorter cross-connect foils and reduced dimensions of the junction box also increase the efficiency of the panels.
Mini FASTON receptacle for space constrained applications
TE Connectivity has introduced its low insertion force 250 series miniature FASTON receptacle terminal. This straight quick connect crimp receptacle is about 23% shorter than full size 250 series FASTON receptacles, permitting its use in applications such as power tools and small appliances, where there is very limited space for electrical connections.
K-type thermocouple connector features design flexibility
TE Connectivity unveiled a K-type thermocouple connector at SPS IPC Drives. It incorporated a special spring terminal concept that ensures superior connectivity compared with the traditional screw type termination.
Generation of coolsplice connectors has extended wire range
TE Connectivity is introducing a generation of CoolSplice connectors. This wire-to-wire insulation displacement connector (IDC) splice solution combines reliability with ease of termination. The wire size range has been extended to enable a splice of larger wires. TE’s new connectors leverage a push button design to ease wire termination and the body of the connector is made from a clear material to allow visual inspection of the termi...

Meet the rLoop Team as they set up at TE Connectivity’s Silicon Valley facility to prepare for the SpaceX Hyperloop Competition.
Relays in safety-related control systems
There are no fewer than seven ways for even a simple transistor to fail. This means that monitoring all the electronic components that may be defective in a safe electronic switching output calls for considerable effort and the use of such things as a clocked fail-safe unit and microcontrollers (Figure 1).
Enhanced M8/M12 connector portfolio by TE Connectivity
TE Connectivity has added shielded M8 connectors in three and four positions to its expanding portfolio of M8/M12 connectors for industrial automation and control applications. Technical and commercial support for the entire package is also being enhanced.
Industrial mini I/O connector portfolio extended
TE Connectivity has upgraded its portfolio of industrial mini I/O connectors with the addition of a surface-mount PCB header. Its co-planarity of just 0.08mm enables the amount of paste to be minimised during assembly. Because of this, the surface mount PCB header delivers improved solderability.
Industrial plug for fast and error-free installation
TE Connectivity (TE) has extended its popular RJ45 product family with an RJ45 Cat 6A plug that can be terminated easily, quickly and without tools with Cat 6A cables, saving time in the field.
Thermoplastic docking frame assures heavy duty connector alignment
TE Connectivity (TE) is launching the HDC Thermoplastic Docking Frame for the company’s HMN series of heavy duty connector (HDC) inserts. It enables blind mating of the inserts in drawers, allowing the connectors to guide themselves into the correct mating positions in environments where direct visibility or access is limited. No tools are needed to unlock the modules either.
LED Holder Type Z35 enables easy assembly
TE Connectivity has introduced the LUMAWISE LED holder type Z35 to provide a higher level of integration via a solderless connection to chip-on-board (COB) LEDs, using standard pan-head and countersunk screws. TE’s new LUMAWISE holder is suitable for LED boards from numerous manufacturers, in two sizes: 13.5x13.5mm and 12x15mm. It enables quick and easy assembly through tape-in LED retention and integrated poke-in wire termination...
Motorman hybrid connectors feature secondary locking
The range of Motorman hybrid connectors from TE Connectivity for decentralised servo motors and servo drives, with a 'Shroud' version that includes secondary locking for improved security has been extended. There is also a cable crimped version available for cabinet applications.
Input/output terminal system connectors save time and money
TE Connectivity says thin wiring can be quickly and easily attached to connectors that incorporate its remote I/O termination system (RITS) solution. This is a concept that saves your most valuable asset – time. The connectors, which are recognised by UL to U.S. and Canadian standards, use insulation-displacement contact (IDC). With no need for any wire preparation such as stripping, it makes joining wires to connectors up to five...
Connector incorporates special spring terminal for connectivity
A leader in connectivity and sensors, TE Connectivity (TE), unveiled the K-type thermocouple connector at SPS IPC Drives. It incorporates a special spring terminal concept that ensures superior connectivity compared with the traditional screw type termination.
Forum discussion of developing standards at the pace of innovation
TE Connectivity (TE) engaged in the Reinvention Laboratory as a Visionary Competence Partner supporting the 80th General Meeting of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC GM) held from October 10th to 14th, 2016 in Frankfurt, Germany.
Wire-to-board connectors enable fast installation
As a compact, versatile solution for wire-to-board connectivity, TE Connectivity (TE) has introduced the Modular Releasable Poke-In Connector. The poke-in feature allows for easy and fast installation, while the connector’s modular low profile and compact design provide flexibility in the application.
