Toshiba Electronics Europe has announced the expansion of the MC04 series with a 6TB version designed for bulk storage systems and servers supporting cloud-based applications and scale-out workloads. Featuring an industry standard 3.5" form factor, the MC04 series delivers 7,200rpm performance, enabling suitable service levels for high performance cloud-based applications and storage.

Toshiba has launched a small motor driver IC for DC brushed motors. While primarily targeted at vehicle engine applications, such as electronic throttle and valve control, the TB9051FTG is also suitable for control of on-board systems operating at up to 5A, such as control of wing mirrors and locks for car boots. The TB9051FTG is a single channel H-Bridge that supports two power supplies (VBAT and VCC).

Combining 15Mb/s high-speed communication with low power consumption, Toshiba has launched a photocoupler for applications including PV inverters, servo amplifiers, FA networks and I/O interfaces. The TLP2761 guarantees a minimum creepage and clearance distance of 8mm and minimum isolation voltage of 5000Vrms, making it suitable for applications requiring higher isolation specs.

Toshiba has expanded its optocoupler range with the addition of the TLP383, designed for use in PLCs, AC adapters and I/O interface boards. The photocoupler guarantees the same CTR (Current Transfer Ratio) across an input current range from 0.2 to 8mA [50-600% at IF =0.2/8mA, VCE=5V] and across the temperature range of +25 to 100°C.

Toshiba Corporation and Microsoft Corporation have announced that the two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly develop solutions for the IoT.   Introducing six products housed in a VSON4 package, the industry’s smallest for photocouplers, Toshiba has expanded its lineup of photorelays. The latest additions to the TLP34xx series offer low off-state capacitance, low on-state resistance and high voltage support.

Suitable for use in automotive applications such as reverse battery protection and motor control, a -40V P-channel power MOSFET has been unveiled by Toshiba Electronics Europe. Targeting PFC for high power smart power stages, Toshiba Electronics Europe has introduced a four pin TO-247 MOSFET package. In conventional three pin TO-247 packages, parasitic induction at the source pin causes increased losses with increasing switching frequency. The TO-247 4L package is equipped with high speed DTMOS-H chips with low QGD to optimise switching behaviour.

Suitable for use in rail traction, industrial motor control, renewable energy systems and electricity transmission and distribution applications, the MG1200GXH1US61 power module has been released by Toshiba Electronics Europe. The 4500V, 1200A device integrates an N-channel IEGT and a fast recovery diode into a standard package with a footprint of just 140x190mm.

Toshiba Electronics Europe has announced that it will start mass production of a CMOS image sensor with a 1/3" optical format and full HD (1080p) resolution. The TCM3232PB meets the requirements for high resolution, high-speed frame rate and high fidelity images needed for industrial use and is suitable for applications in security and surveillance cameras, monitor cameras and driving recorders.

  Toshiba Electronics Europe has launched an HDK (Hardware Development Kit) and SDK that together form a development platform for the TZ1000 ApP Lite series. Suitable for wearable and IoT devices, the TZ1000 series application processors enable activity level monitoring as well as taking a pulse and checking heart rate.

Toshiba Electronics Europe introduces three power multiplexer ICs that are capable of switching between two different power sources. Comprised of the TCK321G, TCK322G and TCK323G, the TCK32xG power multiplexer IC series is suited for applications in the charging circuits of mobile and wearable devices that use dual-input power supply systems, consisting of AC adapters, USB or wireless charging inputs.

Toshiba Electronics Europe has launched a new generation of highly efficient transistor arrays based on double diffused MOSFET (DMOS FET) technology. The TBD62xxxA series is both function-compatible and pin-compatible with the company’s TD62xxxA series of bipolar transistor arrays, which have found wide use in applications including motors, relays and LED drives.

Designed for IoT applications, Toshiba Electronics Europe expands its selection of ApP Lite processors. The TZ5010XBG and the TZ5011XBG application processors are based on a 1.0GHz ARM Cortex-A9 dual core processor, while the TZ5021XBG and TZ5023XBG are based on an 800MHz ARM Cortex-A9 dual core processor.

An MCU, designed for use in secure systems control, has been introduced by Toshiba Electronics Europe. The TMPM46BF10FG, which expands the company’s existing TX04 range and adds a selection of enhanced security features, is an ARM Cortex-M4F based MCU. Suitable applications include IoT devices, energy management systems, sensor technology and industrial equipment.
