TI's MSP430F6736 SoC For Utility Metering
These MSP430 ultra-low-power microcontrollers feature architecture, combined with extensive low-power modes, optimized to achieve extended battery life in portable measurement applications. The device features a powerful 16-bit RISC CPU, 16-bit registers, and constant generators that contribute to maximum code efficiency. The digitally controlled oscillator allows wake-up from low-power modes to active mode in 3 µs (typical).

Texas Instruments today introduced two tiny push-button reset controllers for space-constrained, power-sensitive applications such as pedometers, fitness bands, cell phones and tablets.
