Tektronix will be showcasing a wide-range of test and measurement products at Embedded World 2020 (Stand 104, Hall 4), which takes place from 25th to 27th February in Nuremberg, Germany. The Tektronix products on display will address a wide range of applications. 

University of East Anglia (UEA) students are now enjoying a newly refurbished state-of the art Electrical and Electronic Engineering laboratory featuring 36 fully equipped workstations thanks to Tektronix and Rapid Electronics, one of the UK’s leading distributors of educational test equipment.

Two new source measure unit (SMU) modules for the Keithley 4200A-SCS Parameter Analyser that can perform low-current measurements even in the presence of high load capacitance due to long cables and complex test setups have been introduced by Tektronix.

Double pulse testing in less than a minute is now possible on the Tektronix AFG31000 arbitrary/function generator with the availability of a new software plugin. It saves significant time compared to alternative methods.

Optical test innovation for data centre networking will be demonstrated by Tektronix at ECOC 2019 in Dublin (September 22-26. It is the largest optical communications exhibition and conference in Europe. Tektronix will be hosting industry experts from leading research and commercial companies to discuss the trends and opportunities for emerging optical communications designs. 

Debugging embedded systems often involves looking for clues that are hard to discover just by looking at one domain at a time. The ability to look at time and frequency domains simultaneously can offer important insights. Lee Morgan of Tektronix explains further.

Tektronix has released two software packages that greatly simplify Automotive Ethernet testing, debug and Protocol Decode for use with its 5 and 6 Series mixed signal oscilloscopes (MSO). Using the new Signal Separation software, automotive engineers can now perform Automotive Ethernet testing without disrupting the ECU system or cutting the Ethernet cable to install a directional coupler. 

Two oscilloscopes offering 13GHz and 16GHz frequency have been added to Tektronix’s scalable DPO70000SX Series Performance Oscilloscope series. The new offerings allow engineers to take advantage of the high sample rate and low noise floor of Tektronix’ highest performance family of oscilloscopes at lower bandwidth levels and more affordable price points.

Royal Holloway, University of London, has officially opened its new Beatrice Shilling Building which includes state-of-the-art teaching laboratories in partnership with Tektronix and Rapid Electronics, the UK-based distributor of educational test equipment.

“So,” asked Tektronix of a cross section of engineers, “what do you want from a next generation, mid-market oscilloscope?” What they asked for Tektronix reckons it has delivered with the 3 Series Mixed Domain Oscilloscope (MDO) and 4 Series Mixed-signal oscilloscope (MSO).

In a management reshuffle Tami Newcombe has been promoted to President of Tektronix, and Marc Tremblay who was named that role earlier this year is instead becoming President of Fluke. Both companies are owned by Fortive. Newcombe joined Tektronix in early 2017 as Commercial President and has been responsible for leading global sales and marketing.  

A wide-range of test and measurement products and solutions will be showcased by Tektronix at PCIM 2019 in Nuremberg (May 7-9) including the SiC MOSFET and GaNFET Switching Power Converter Analysis Kit. Tektronix experts will also be on hand to discuss the latest power test solutions from Tektronix.

The AWG70000B Series Arbitrary Waveform Generator has been launched by Tektronix with new features that enable it to fully support the testing of complex electronic warfare and wireless communications systems that require the ability to dynamically alter signal sequences during test scenarios.

Marc Tremblay has been named as the new president of Tektronix. Tremblay succeeds Pat Byrne who has served as Tektronix’ president since July 2014. Byrne will continue in his senior vice president role at parent company Fortive with Tremblay reporting directly to him.

Power rail probes will make their debut on the Tektronix exhibit at the embedded world exhibition in Nuremberg (February 26-28). The TPR1000 and TPR4000 boast 1mv accuracy. Designed specifically for minimising noise on power rail measurement, the power rail probes enable clean, ultra-low noise measurement insight, with up to 60V offset.
