Melf resistors designed for harsh environmental conditions
Stackpole has recently introduced the MLFA Series of metal film melf resistors. The MLFA Series is fully AEC-Q200 compliant and offered in the 0204 (0.4W) and 0207 (1W) sizes. The MLFA has exceptional stability demonstrated over life, biased humidity, and short time overload testing. In addition, the MLFA offers pulse power handling up to 3500 watts for single short duration pulses, and lightning surge withstanding up to 6KV for resistance values...
Aluminium housed wirewound resistors offer high power
Manufacturer of resistive components, Stackpole Electronics, has announced its KAL series. A wirewound resistor technology utilising a large ceramic core moulded into an aluminium housing to facilitate heat transfer. The relatively small size to power ratio allows the KAL series to be used in conjunction with an external heat sink or other metal structure to aid in heat removal.
Flameproof through hole resistors for high power applications
A power metal film through hole resistor designed for high power and pulse power applications has been introduced by Stackpole. The RSPF series is available in power ratings from 1/4 up to 3W with one percent tolerance available. This series offers resistance values from 2.2Ω up to 1MΩ, and the coating is flame proof per UL94V-0.
Leaded current sense resistors for automated placement
Stackpole's MR series is a moulded axial leaded series of current sense resistors with power ratings of 1, 3, 5, and 10W. The moulded package provides tightly controlled dimensions making them suitable for automated placement equipment.
Small size precision chip resistor values expanded
The RNCF series from Stackpole is a precision thin film chip resistor series capable of achieving tolerances as tight as 0.01% and TCR as low as 2ppm per °C.
Carbon composition resistors have almost negligible inductance
The RC Series of carbon composition axial leaded resistors has been released, which is suitable for high speed or high energy pulse handling requirements. The large mass of the carbon resistive element efficiently dissipates high energy surge events while the almost negligible inductance allows for higher switching speeds than comparable wirewound resistors, the company claims.
Resistors power for 1,000+ hours with little shift in resistance
Stackpole Electronics has announced the release of their new RTAN series chip resistors. The AEC-qualified RTAN is a Tantalum Nitride precision thin film resistor that is impervious to moisture corrosion. This type of thin film technology passes biased humidity testing at 85°C, 85% relative humidity, and ten percent rated power for more than 1,000 hours with little shift in resistance.
Metal glaze resistors aid 0.25W to 3W applications
The MG / MGM Series from Stackpole is a high voltage thru hole resistor product with resistance values from 1K ohms up to 1G ohm. The metal glaze element provides working voltages ranging from 1600V up to 7000V, tolerances as low as 1% and 100 ppm TCR. This makes the MG / MGM Series ideal for all applications requiring good voltage handling, pulse handling, and moisture resistance including industrial power supplies and controls, motor controls, ...
Thick film chip resistor series has high power ratings
The RMCP Series from Stackpole is a thick film chip resistor series with high power ratings for a given chip size. Stackpole recently added an 0201 size chip resistor with a power rating of 0.063W while the usual power rating for this size is 0.050W.
MLF/MLFM MELFs offer low thermal resistance
Stackpole's MLF/MLFM is a series of metal film, surface mount MELF resistors. The MELF technology provides cooler operating temperatures than flat chip resistors at full rated power. For example, the MLFM1 will typically run more than 70°C cooler than the equivalent 1W 2512 size flat chip resistor and has a smaller footprint.
Resistance value range for moulded wirewound expands
The resistance value range for Stackpole's SM4527 has expanded. The 2W surface mount molded wirewound originally had resistance values limited from 0.01Ω to 0.05Ω, but now the robust SM45727 offers values up 1KΩ in tolerances between one and five percent.
0603 X 4 chip arrays now AEC-Q200 qualified
Stackpole has completed AEC-Q200 testing for the RACF and RAVF Series thick film chip resistor arrays in its most popular size, the 0603 by 4 resistors. Per AEC-Q200, these chip resistor arrays must have an operating temperature range of -55ºC to +150ºC and survive a wide range of electrical and mechanical stress tests including exposure to high temperatures, temperature cycling, high temperature operational life, biased humidity, ESD, ...
Multilayer varistors operate at temperatures up to +150°C
While many multilayer varistors currently available are only able to operate up to +125°C, the ZVY series from Stackpole Electronics is capable of operating temperatures of up to +150°C. This higher temperature range makes the multilayer varistors capable of voltage protection for low voltage electronics in a wider range of environments including industrial electronics and engine controls.
Current sense chip resistors offer TCR down to 15ppm
The AEC-Q200 qualified CSS and CSSH series from Stackpole offer ±15ppm/°C TCR for chip sizes 1206, 2010, 2512, and 2728. This tight TCR is available in resistance values ranging from 7 up to 100mΩ depending on size. The combination of tight TCR and precision tolerances down to ±0.5% mean the CSS and CSSH are ideal for all types of current sense and control applications.
Stackpole expands thick film chip resistor design kit
Stackpole Electronics has expanded its thick film chip resistor design kit offering to include the 0201 case size. There are 5 different kits offered corresponding to the following value ranges:
Automotive surface mount varistors operate up to +150°C
Stackpole has announced its AVY series of automotive surface mount varistors that operate at temperatures up to +150°C. This higher operating temperature allows their use in a wider range of environments compared to most varistors that can only operate at temperatures up to +125°C. The AVY series is rated for up to 2,000A of current and 25J load dump energy.
CSRF current sense chip resistors qualified to AEC-Q200
It has been recently announced by Stackpole Electronics, that the 0805 and 2512 package sizes of its CSRF series current sense chip resistors are now qualified to AEC-Q200. The CSRF utilises a foil on ceramic carrier technology that is impervious to sulphur and offers low resistance values, good TCR, and the ability to achieve small sizes.
