At 2.06bn Euro, order intake was 14% higher than in the previous year, while net revenue remained stable at 1.91bn.
RF interference hunted down in mobile networks
The launch of the R&S MNT100 RF interference locator from Rohde & Schwarz provides a new, expert approach to the challenge of locating and identifying sources of RF interference in mobile networks. The handheld instrument is optimised to detect, analyse and locate sources of interference from 600MHz to 6GHz.
Meyer heads Rohde & Schwarz drive into automotive market
Jürgen Meyer has been named as Director of the automotive market segment at Rohde & Schwarz. He is responsible for developing the market segment as far as product positioning and expanding the customer base.
productronica: T&M solutions cover 5G, IoT
At this year’s productronica, Rohde & Schwarz is focusing on innovative T&M solutions for next generation wireless communications technologies, including the Internet of Things (IoT), fifth generation mobile radio (5G), as well as automotive radar and infotainment systems.
DOCSIS signal analyser heads off headend problems
To maximise and maintain a high data throughput when surfing and consuming multimedia content, the DOCSIS 3.1 data over cable system interface specification was developed as a successor to DOCSIS 3.0. The new standard uses channels with a bandwidth of up to 192MHz and OFDM coding, which provides a high data throughput in the direction of the cable modem.
Calibration units overcome TVAC chamber test problem
Unlike conventional automatic network analyser calibration units, the R&S ZN-Z32/33 inline calibration units from Rohde & Schwarz are permanently connected to the test setup. This makes them an ideal solution for test setups that require frequent recalibration, especially where the test setup is inaccessible.
Automotive radar test solution unveiled at EuMW
A range of solutions for automotive radar testing based on its expertise in microwave and millimeterwave testing were unveiled by Rohde & Schwarz at European Microwave Week 2017 in Nuremberg. The soon-to-be-available innovative solutions range from analysing radomes to generating multidimensional automotive radar echo environments.
Analysers set for European Microwave Week premiere
The R&S ZNL network analyser and the R&S FPL1000 spectrum analyser will be launched by Rohde & Schwarz at European Microwave Week 2017 in Nuremberg (10-12 October). They offer flexible solutions for the most important RF measurements. These include the characterisation of components such as antennas, attenuators, filters and amplifiers, as well as measurements on signal sources including spectral measurements, analogue and digital sig...
GNSS simulator generates realistic test scenarios
The R&S SMW200A GNSS simulator adds a high-end solution to the Rohde & Schwarz portfolio of satellite navigation system simulators. It can be extended to up to four RF outputs and allows GNSS signals to be simulated simultaneously in multiple frequency bands for multiple antennas. It can internally simulate a complex interference environment in parallel with GNSS signals.
Radar test solutions make debut at EuMW
At European Microwave Week (EuMW) in Nuremberg (October 10 to 12), Rohde & Schwarz will showcase test solutions for RF & microwave components, radar, 5G communication and satellite payload. Additionally, for the first time, Rohde & Schwarz will feature a special exhibition area dedicated solely to innovative automotive radar test solution, located in the entrance of hall 7A.
Royal Navy's Type 26 ship equipped with comms system
Manufacturer of test and measurement equipment for mobile radios and radiocommunications, Rohde & Schwarz has received an order from BAE Systems to equip the Type 26 Global Combat Ship (T26 GCS) with an integrated communications system for the British Royal Navy. The solution was selected based on its proven technology, usability and cost effectiveness.
Duo demo 1.2Gbps LTE-A-Pro downlink throughput
Rohde & Schwarz and Huawei Technologies have successfully demonstrated 1.2Gbps LTE-A-Pro downlink throughput, using Huawei Kirin 970 SoC, the industry's first smartphone SoC to support category 18 (1.2Gbps). In the Rohde & Schwarz and Huawei lab, the 1.2Gbps download speeds were achieved by using a combination of up to three downlink FDD carriers on which carriers can be received separately on four transmission layers (4x4 MIMO, or multip...
Signal analyser option provides 5GHz analysis bandwidth
The R&S FSW85 signal and spectrum analyser from Rohde & Schwarz now provides 5GHz analysis bandwidth, which is required for analysing wideband signals such as automotive radar FMCW chirp signals, IEEE 802.11ay signals and 5G waveform candidates.
Oscilloscopes feature at Warsaw exhibition
Power electronics is a fundamental part of every electronic device. The right design is key to ensuring the required performance for electronic components, PCBs and systems. Considerations such as energy efficiency and longer battery life are also growing in importance. At the centre of the Rohde & Schwarz portfolio to be showcased at EPEʹ17 ECCE will be oscilloscopes.
