Plessey launched the Hyperion family of high-power horticultural LED grow lights. First showing of heart rate-based driver alertness system
Exhibiting a new heart rate-based driver alertness monitoring system, Plessey and SEGULA Technologies will be at this year's Paris Motor show in Porte de Versailles from 1st –16th October. The sensors are integrated into the seatback, and provide earlier warning of drowsiness or health issues than systems based on eye or head movement.

Integrated LED beam control modules now available from Plessey
Plessey announced that it will be releasing its LED beam control module, which they are branding Stellar at the Light and Building event from 13-18th March 2016 at the Fair and Exhibition Centre in Frankfurt, Germany. Stellar is Plessey's latest, GaN-on-silicon, LED solution and showcases the combination of Plessey's MaGIC low cost, high efficiency, surface-emitting LEDs with unique modular optics representing the next phase in LED lighting.
Plessey to build LEDs in cubic GaN on 3C-SiC/Si substrates
Plessey, Anvil Semiconductors and the University of Cambridge announced that they are working together to fabricate high efficiency LEDs in cubic GaN grown on Anvil's 3C-SiC / Si substrates. Cubic GaN has the potential to overcome the problems caused in conventional LEDs by the strong internal electric fields which impair carrier recombination and contribute to efficiency droop.
LED architectural lighting has high efficiency
Plessey announced that it has collaborated with 8Point3 to develop and produce a high efficiency architectural lighting product range. Plessey has signed a long-term commercial agreement with 8point3 to supply the lighting modules, including the company's MaGIC GaN-on-Silicon LEDs.
