Power MOSFET operation in Linear Mode
PowerMOSFETs always pass through the Linear Mode, during switching. Modern FETs are optimised for low resistance but often at the expense of stability in Linear Mode. Presented by Dr. Adam Brown, this video from NXP Semiconductors explains the considerations that are needed during design to ensure safe operation.
NXP OM13320 (Fm+) I2C-Bus Development Kit
This video provides an overview of the OM13320 (Fm+) I2C-Bus Development Kit from NXP Semiconductors.
NextPowerS3 MOSFETs for DC-DC buck regulators
In a drive to improve efficiency in switched-mode power supplies, MOSFET manufacturers are producing faster-switching devices with reduced capacitances. Whilst this helps to reduce switching losses, the resultant voltage node spikes and ringing, together with coupled gate glitches and the opportunity for "shoot through", can cause EMI and reliability concerns. Dr Dilder Chowdhury describes the physics behind these phenomena and explains how NXP i...
