NEC announced the successful completion of a PoC trial with KT for a 5G wireless backhaul solution that utilizes E-Band spectrum (70-80GHz). The PoC was conducted at Phoenix Park Ski World in PyeongChang, South Korea, using KT's commercial mobile network infrastructure. KT aims to launch 5G trial services in 2018. MWC 2016: Massive-element antenna aimed at 5G base stations
A prototype of an A4-sized massive-element Active Antenna System (AAS) for 5G small cell base stations was demonstrated at Mobile Wold Congress by NEC.
