Rework system is capable of 50mm of motorised travel
At this year’s MD&M West, Metcal will showcase its Scorpion rework system, solder ball replacement kit and MX-HPDC dual cartridge hand-piece. The event is scheduled to take place from 10th to 12th February at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. The company will be located at booth 524.
System provides adequate thermal energy flow for conduction soldering
Metcal is pleased to introduce the MX-HPDC dual cartridge hand-piece and MX-WHPDC work-stand. Designed to meet higher thermal demands, five SMTC dual-shaft cartridge geometries are available in two temperature series.

Rework portfolio on show at SMTAI 2014
At SMTA International 2014, in booth #539, Metcal representatives will demonstrate the Scorpion Rework System with SmartPlace Technology & Precision Automatic Placement Package and the MX-5200 Soldering & Rework System. Capable of 50mm of motorised travel in the Z-axis and a full 360° in ϴ (Theta), the Scorpion system offers fine motor control in the Z-axis and ϴ during alignment of the component to the pad.
Metcal to speak at best practices workshop
Metcal has revealed that Ed Zamborsky, Eastern Regional Sales Manager, is set to speak at the Best Practices Workshop presented by Stanley Supply & Services and RESTronics. Scheduled for 9th October in Duluth, Georgia, the workshop will explore component placement, chemical and testing applications, BGA solder / rework, cleaning, advanced debug, troubleshooting and jitter basics.

Scheduled for October 7th in Colorado, USA, Metcal has announced that it will be holding its next rework workshop in conjunction with Kester Solder. Offering tips to unlock the latest rework challenges, experts from the two companies will discuss applications and rework approaches for BGA, PoP, QFN, QFP, 0201, LED and PTH.
Metcal demo rework series at the SMTA Capital Expo
At the SMTA Capital Expo & Tech Forum, 9th September 2014 in Laurel, Maryland, Metcal will exhibit the MX-5200 Soldering, Desoldering and Rework series. The MX-5200 features a dual-simultaneous use option, allowing two hand-pieces to be used from one power supply at the same time.
Updated rework products to be demonstrated at NEPCON South China
At NEPCON South China in Booth A-1K25, Metcal will demonstrate the MX-500 Soldering and Rework System, HCT2-120 Hot Air Pencil and new features on the Scorpion. NEPCON South China is scheduled to take place August 26-28, 2014 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center.

Expanding the company's range of convection rework accessories, Metcal has announced the Solder Ball Placement Kit. This selection of tools was identified in order to enable the operator to rework small components with repeatability and consistency.
