A 3.5A, 42V input capable synchronous step-down switching regulator has been introduced by Linear Technology. The LT8610AC's Burst Mode operation keeps quiescent current under 2.5µA in no-load standby conditions, while synchronous rectification delivers efficiency as high as 96%.
Power system manager relieves computation & polling
Providing current, power and energy monitoring of the intermediate bus input to Point-of-Load (PoL) converters, a four-channel PMBus digital power system manager has been released by Linear Technology. By providing the energy consumed, reported in joules, and the elapsed time through a PMBus interface, the LTC2975 relieves computation and polling.
Regulator avoids critical noise-sensitive frequency bands
Featuring a synchronous rectification topology, the LT8609, a 2A, 42V input synchronous step-down switching regulator, has been released by Linear Technology. Avoiding critical noise-sensitive frequency bands, such as AM radio, the topology delivers 93% efficiency while switching at 2MHz.
Switching regulator integrates LDOs for accurate tracking
A 400mA, 40V step-down switching regulator with dual tracking LDO outputs has been released by Linear Technology. Operating from a VIN range of 4.3-40V with transient protection to 60V, the LT3668 is particularly suitable for automotive and industrial applications. Up to 400mA can be delivered by the internal 600mA switch and distributed to the combined loads of the primary output and both of the tracking LDOs.

Offering linearity of +51dBm OIP3 (Output Third Order Intercept), a 20MHz-2GHz differential input and output 20dB gain amplifier has been released by Linear Technology. The LTC6430-20, which provides 2.9dB noise figure at 240MHz, features an OP1dB (Output 1dB Compression Point) of +23.9dBm.
Battery charger features multi-chemistry operation
Embedded automotive and industrial systems, backup battery charging, energy harvesting and thin film battery products are typical applications for Linear Technology’s LTC4079 60V, constant-current/constant-voltage 250mA multi-chemistry battery charger. The device’s low quiescent current linear topology offers a simple inductorless design and accepts a wide 2.7V to 60V input voltage range.
Regulator corrects voltage drop regardless of load current
Designed to power 5V USB applications, the LT3697 35V input capable, step-down switching regulator has been released by Linear Technology. With 60V transient protection, the regulator uses programmable cable drop compensation to deliver 5V regulation at 2.5A to a remote USB port.
