7th Gen Intel Core processor included in embedded products

Kontron announced that it will implement the latest 7th generation Intel Core processor family (code-name Kaby Lake) in a whole array of Kontron boards and modules to be released in early 2017. Products featuring Intel 7th generation Intel Core processor technology will include two models of Kontron's COM Express COM in the standard form factors COMe basic and COMe compact, named Kontron COMe-bKL6 and COMe-cKL6, respectively.

Kontron integrates latest generation Intel into its COMs

Kontron will introduce five new embedded platforms including motherboards and COMs based on the latest generation Intel Atom(TM) processor E3900 series, Intel Celeron processor N3350, and Intel Pentium processor N4200 platform. Kontron's new passively cooled embedded platforms will help developers achieve powerful and more energy-efficient solutions especially for low-noise systems that can benefit from CPUs that do not need any active cooling.

Cabin wireless access point receives FAA approval

It has been announced by Kontron that the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has given the company's Cab-n-Connect A100 Cabin Wireless Access Point (CWAP) its Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) Supplement for multiple aircraft models including Boeing 737-700, 737-800, 767-200, 767-300, Airbus A330-300, A320-200, and Embraer ERJ 190-100.

Ethernet switch features redundant ring technology

With the introduction of the TRACe-NET Ethernet switch, Kontron provides a switch that complements the company's existing line of TRACe transporation operational computers. The TRACe-NET xM8P2G-1 is an EN50155-certified fully managed Layer 2 industrial PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) switch with eight 10/100MB PoE ports and 2GB uplink ports.

Robust boards ready for IoT implementation

Kontron has used the Embedded World exhibition in Nuremberg to launch the COM Express computer on module COMe-cBL6 and the mini motherboard mITX-BDU-U.
