Two new 40mm die pressure contact phase control thyristors have been announced b y IXYS UK. With current ratings of 075A & 1140A and voltage ratings of 1800V & 1400V respectively, these new devices from IXYS will eventually replace some of the older designs in the same mechanical footprint.

IXYS expands its range of high efficiency IXOLAR solarMD Solar modules with new variants designed for use in applications such as battery chargers, wireless sensors, green electricity generation and power backup for UPS. Designed using monocrystalline silicon for increased efficiency and spectral range, the new additions feature a maximum power output between 67mW and 540mW.

IXYS have today announced three new 1.8kV pressure contact phase control thyristors featuring increased power density. Retaining the same overall package footprint, the improved designs offer an increase of more than 40% in current rating over existing designs. This improvement in performance is achieved by maximising the die size and an improved package design.

Providing precision pulsed current with accurate microprocessor-based digital power control, the PCX-7500 high-power laser diode driver/current source has been announced today by IXYS. Pulse widths are adjustable from 4 microseconds to 5000 microseconds, with a frequency up to 10 000 hertz. 

Based on XPT IGBT Technology, IXYS have today announced the new MIXD600PF650TSF high power phase-leg in the SimBus-F outline with a total Current - Voltage capability of 600 Ampere and 650 Volt. The discrete 650 Volt XPT Trench IGBT product is now also available in module outlines, up to 600 Amperes with the IXYS fast “Sonic” diodes.  

IXYS have today announced the CPC1968J, a new 2Arms solid state power relay. Optically coupled MOSFET technology enables the CPC1968J to provide 2.5kVrms of input to output isolation. The output is constructed with efficient MOSFET switches and IXYS ICD’s patented OptoMOS architecture and technology.

IXYS introduce a new 24mm die pressure contact phase control thyristor, the N0465WN140/N0465WN160. The new improved design offers an average current rating of 465A, compared to 392A of the established design, which represents a 19% increase and the device is available with voltage up to 1600V.

IXYS Integrated Circuits Division Inc announced the immediate availability of a new device for its family of high speed communication ICs, the CPC5001 Dual, One-Channel Each Direction Digital Optical Isolator.

IXYS Corporation announced today the introduction of the PCX-7401 precision laser diode driver and current source by its IXYS Colorado division. This instrument provides precision pulsed current with accurate microprocessor-based digital power control.

IXYS has today announced that its wholly owned UK subsidiary, IXYS UK Westcode, has launched its new range of precision bar clamps for use with its comprehensive range of press-pack semiconductors. These clamps have been specifically designed for use with IXYS UK diode and thyristor press-pack capsule devices with poleface diameters from 19mm up to 75mm.

IXYS has introduced an extensive range of new high current isolated base dual thyristor and diode modules. The new range of devices is based on the same 60mm die used in the largest of IXYS UK’s range of single device isolated base modules. Typical applications include industrial drives, soft starts, welding and all types of front end rectification needs.

IXYS announced two new 32mm die pressure contact phase control thyristors with current ratings of 530A and 795A and voltage from 1400V to 2500V. These new larger die size offer improved performance when compared to established part in the same overall mechanical footprint.

IXYS Corporation announces today a new “Dual Thyristor –Triac” technology platform (DT-Triac). IXYS continued its tradition of innovative bipolar power device technology. Triacs are known as best in class for AC power control, providing better power density in numerous power system applications. However, traditional triacs have been limited to lower currents and lower voltages, and with low levels of dv/dt and di/dt ratings.

IXYS has today announced the launch of two new series of high power Silicon Carbide diodes. The SS150 and SS275 Series feature three diode configurations to provide designers with flexible connection and layout options. Providing excellent switching performance, the SS150 and SS275 Series high power Silicon Carbide diodes are packaged in IXYS' low inductance, surface mount DE Series package.

IXYS launch the IX2113 High and Low Side Gate Driver IC with high voltage IC that can drive MOSFETs and IGBTs that operate up to 600V. Both the high side and low side outputs feature integrated power DMOS transistors, each capable of sourcing and sinking over 2A of gate drive current.

IXYS Corporation announced that it has provided the Oxford University Energy and Power group (EPG) team with PV solar cells for their award winning Eco-vehicle, nicknamed ‘Peggie’.

IXYS has today introduced a range of ‘easy mount’ rectifier diode assemblies. The new assemblies, which can be supplied either with the diodes ready mounted or as kits, allow for easy mounting of rectifier diodes to cooling fins using four bolts. The diodes are single side mounted directly to a copper base plate pre-drilled with the four bolt holes.

IXYS have today introduced a new 500A, 2.5KV GTO thyristor in a new smaller package. The new gate turn-off thyristor rated at 500A and 2.5kV is based on IXYS’ established S500KC device. The die design has the same active area and performance, but with an improved termination design which allows the device to be encapsulated in a smaller 25mm pole face package.

IXYS have introduced 4500V N-Channel Power MOSFETs in international standard size packages. The new product family is the highest voltage Power MOSFET product line in the industry. The 4500V N-Channel Power MOSFETs are specifically designed to address demanding and fast-switching power conversion applications which require very high blocking voltages up to 4.5kV, with the current ratings ranging from 200mA to 2A.
