The Internet of Things (IoT) has so far failed to deliver on its enormous potential. But new developments in connectivity may finally enable the billions of connected devices we were promised, notes Juan Nogueira, Director at Flex’s Connectivity Centre of Excellence.

Flex Power Modules has introduced the BMR482, its second generation of direct conversion isolated DC/DC converter. By converting directly from a 48V supply to the load voltage without an intermediate stage, the BMR482 delivers increased efficiency in a compact package, enabling it to meet the higher power needs of today’s data centers and cloud computing.

Flex Power Modules announces the PKJ7200W, a series of EN50155-compliant DC/DC converter modules for railway rolling stock equipment. Provided in a half-brick format, the PKJ7200W delivers up to 200W output power, with an ultra-wide input voltage range of 14 to 160V.

Flex Power Modules introduces the BMR474, a high power density, digital non-isolated Point of Load (PoL) regulator. Due to its vertically mounted SIP (Single Inline Package) design, the BMR474 saves valuable board space, while being able to deliver up to 80A output current, with a maximum power output of 198W.
