Fairchild Semiconductor brings designers of LED applications a reference design that allows implementation of an AC-input LED lighting system without a secondary-side control circuit and optocoupler. Fairchild's Automatic Detection Translators Lower Power Consumption

The FXLA104 is ideal for designs needing four-bits such as cell phones, while the FXLA108 is an eight-bit translator that is optimal for notebook applications. Both translators have a capacitance of less than 10pf, easing current flow and lowering power consumption. With a built-in automatic direction control, the translator can simply sense and control the direction data should flow without a direction control pin.

Fairchild's Power Supply Reference Design Achieves 94 Percent Efficiency

Fairchild Semiconductor makes it easier for designers to develop more efficient power supplies and meet stringent energy efficiency specifications with its 200W DC-DC power supply reference design. The RD212 reference design offers high efficiency (up to 94 percent) and low noise characteristics due to its zero voltage switching (ZVS) technique. It provides a 24V output at 8A and offers numerous protection functions.
