DELO Industrial Adhesives Articles
Adhesives have flow properties for die coating
DELO has developed new glob top adhesives featuring optimized flow properties to allow chips, in MEMS sensors for example, to be coated in a uniform thickness of less than 100 µm that does not extend beyond the chip edges.
Glob top adhesives for die coating feature optimised flow properties
DELO has developed new glob top adhesives featuring optimized flow properties. They allow chips, for example in MEMS sensors, to be coated in a uniform thickness of less than 100 µm that does not extend beyond the chip edges. Increasing miniaturization in microelectronic packaging gives rise to new demands on the glob top materials used.
Glass brickwork uses permanently transparent adhesive
With Chanel's new flagship glass store, where the old brickwork has been replaced by glass blocks, Amsterdam has gained an architectural highlight. DELO's products, more precisely the adhesive, is used for bonding the more than 7,000 handmade glass elements of the facade. Thanks to the special properties of the PHOTOBOND adhesives, the bonding stays permanently transparent.
Two component adhesive for electric motors
DELO Industrial Adhesives has developed a two-component product which is said to provide flexibility and reliability for the production of electric motors in a medium temperature range. DELO-DUOPOX SJ8665 features increased strength for this area of application.
Increased efficiency in the production of loudspeakers
The loudspeaker market is booming. In addition to an outstanding product, efficient production is crucial for a company to stay in front of competitors. Adhesives play an important part in this, but the potential they offer for increasing productivity is not yet fully exploited. By Dr. Gunter Witek, Product Manager, DELO Industrial Adhesives.
Black adhesives are light-curable
DELO Industrial Adhesives just introduced black adhesives that are light-curable. For light-curing processes, adhesive needs to be translucent so that photoinitiators in the entire adhesive layer can decompose and start the crosslinking reaction. Because black absorbs the majority of light, the amount that is transmitted becomes naturally lower as the layer gets thicker.
Good-bye air bubbles
When manufacturing electronic components it is important to protect the workpieces against future external influences. Most manufacturers use potting or filling to do so. Especially for high-performance applications, vacuum dispensing is the method of choice. A high number of manufacturers are already using this highly efficient type of dispensing.
LEDs for light-curing adhesives now reach up to 600mW/cm²
DELO Industrial Adhesives has increased the intensity of its LED area lamps for light-curing adhesives. The upgrade is now available for the 400nm variants of the DELOLUX 20 and the DELOLUX 202. Thus, both lamps nearly double their intensity and now reach up to 600mW/cm².
Metal adhesive achieves twice the shear strength values
A metal adhesive, designed for bonding tasks in electric motors, has been released by DELO. Suitable for use at temperatures of up to 180°C, the DELO-ML DB154 is claimed to achieve more than twice the shear strength values of other methacrylates, which experience a power drop at temperatures above +150°C. According to the company, the adhesive retains its strength even at frequent contact with gear oil, motor oil and gasoline.
Laser pretreatment enables versatile stainless steel bonding
It is well known that stainless steel is difficult to bond, and durable bonded connections are often only enabled through pretreatment. DELO Industrial Adhesives and the Ulm University of Applied Sciences have recently discovered that laser-pretreated stainless steel bondings are nearly as durable as after Sandblasting And COating (SACO) pretreatment.
Adhesives deliver shear strength of 12 MPa at +220 °C
A range of structural adhesives has been added to DELO's existing product portfolio. Boasting a shear strength of 12 MPa at temperatures up to +220 °C, the adhesives have been specifically designed for when components due to be bonded are exposed to high temperatures. DELO claim that the adhesives approximate a gain of 50% compared to established products, as many adhesives exhibit a strong performance drop at temperatures above +150 °C.
Adhesive reliably bonds RFID chips and antennas
Providing reliable transmission of electrical signals, the anisotropic conductive DELOMONOPOX AC245 adhesive has been introduced by DELO Industrial Adhesives. Suitable for the reliable bonding of RFID chips and antennas, it offers high long-term die shear strength and enables efficient production as it can be jetted.
Unbreakable glass cover composite protects passengers
The technology group SCHOTT and DELO Industrial Adhesives collaborate in the development of an unbreakable glass cover composite for vehicle displays, thus providing for improved road safety. A high-tech adhesive bonds the display to the special glass cover, satisfying all safety requirements imposed by the automotive industry and protect occupants of vehicles against cutting injuries.
