20W converters target rugged industrial applications
With a fully potted and metal cased construction for harsh environments, the AXA series of compact 20W high power density DC/DC converters have been unveiled by Artesyn Embedded Technologies. They are suited for use in battery-operated equipment, instrumentation, distributed power architectures in communications and industrial electronics and other space critical-applications.
DC/DC converter targets high density applications
Designed for high density applications with restricted space, the AVD85 family of 85W, 1/16th brick DC/DC converters have been unveiled by Artesyn Embedded Technologies. The high efficiency, fully regulated devices provide excellent thermal performance, high power density of 72.5W/in2 and a peak efficiency of 92%.
Industry's most powerful ATCA system unveiled
Artesyn Embedded Technologies has announced the industry’s most powerful AdvancedTCA (ATCA) system, the Centellis 8000 series. With power and cooling for up to 600 watts per blade, Artesyn’s Centellis 8000 series can easily accommodate a full payload of today’s highest performance ATCA blades and offers a future-proof platform for higher powered processors.

Housed in a full-brick format, the AGF800 DC/DC module has been launched by Artesyn Embedded Technologies. The 800W module, the highest power output DC/DC module offered by the company, delivers more than 94.5% typical efficiency and a wide input range of 36 to 75V.

Artesyn Embedded Technologies has announced a powerful software solution for its ATCA systems, which Artesyn believes could save up to 40% of customers’ time-to-market. System Services Framework (SSF) is a complete system management suite for Artesyn ATCA systems, allowing users or applications to configure and monitor the hardware and software elements of a single ATCA shelf or across multiple shelves.
Power supply certified by 80 PLUS as Titanium efficiency
A titanium efficiency, bulk front-end power supply, designated the DS3000TE-3, has been launched by Artesyn Embedded Technologies. The 3000W power supply uses proprietary Artesyn power switching technology and high density component packaging techniques to provide servers, networking, telecom and other redundant power applications with the highest efficiency solution.
Video transcode acceleration engine saves $500,000
Speeding the deployment and lowering the cost of rolling out broadcast video applications on standard servers, Artesyn Embedded Technologies has introduced the SharpCaster video transcode acceleration engine. The company has estimated development savings of at least $500,000 (USD) plus a time saving of nine months or more compared to customers developing their own solution.
