Expanding the LCM family of AC/DC power supplies, Artesyn Embedded Technologies has introduced 1000W models that provide high efficiency and reliability at a competitive cost for industrial and medical equipment. In production volumes, the cost per watt for the new series can be as low as $0.14/€0.13.

Delivering up to 50A with a single fully regulated 12V output, a series of 600W quarter-brick isolated DC/DC converters has been unveiled by Artesyn Embedded Technologies. The ADQ600 series has an input voltage range of 40 to 60V and is primarily designed for use with standard 48V supplies in computing and server applications, as well as regulated 48V supplies in telecomms equipment.

Artesyn Embedded Technologies has announced the first 2nd gen model of its popular MicroMP (µMP) configurable power supply series, the µMP16. With a higher maximum power output of 1800W, the µMP16 offers a power density of 1.40W/cm3 and efficiency of up to 91%, making it even more cost effective for equipment that has multiple power input requirements.

A media processing blade, which combines a powerful Intel Xeon server with a high density DSP media engine on a single AdvancedTCA (ATCA) blade, has been introduced by Artesyn Embedded Technologies. The ATCA-8330 enables network equipment providers to implement complete solutions such as session border controllers, VoLTE, video optimisation or video conferencing with less blades and therefore less cost.

Offering up to 94.5% efficiency for telecomms and networking equipment manufacturers, the AVO200 series DC/DC converters have been unveiled by Artesyn Embedded Technologies. The first two models in the series of 200W, fully-regulated, 1/8th brick DC/DC converters address the key 12 and 5V needs of communications installations.

Media processing acceleration devices, which use hardware-accelerated, software-based transcoding in a standard rack server architecture, have been introduced by Artesyn Embedded Technologies. The SharpStreamer 1U platform and the SharpStreamer 2U platform enable communications service providers to significantly increase the density of their multiscreen video services. 

At Mobile World Congress, Artesyn Embedded Technologies and Vantrix are showcasing a new voice codec capability on Intel Architecture processors that delivers up to three times the speech transcoding capability of existing purpose-built media processing platforms.

Artesyn has announced its first high performance integrated computing system inspired by Open Compute Project (OCP) standards. The Centellis OCP Platform is designed to help communication service providers dramatically lower operating expenses associated with running their networks by leveraging open standard/source hardware and software, and taking advantage of virtualisation and cloud technologies.

A two-slot 40G ATCA (AdvancedTCA) system platform, designed to support the latest high performance payload blades, has been introduced by Artesyn Embedded Technologies. Enabling systems integrators to increase performance and I/O bandwidth, the Centellis 2100 provides power and cooling support for up to 400W per slot and up to 500W in a single slot configuration.

Suitable for medical, industrial and IT applications, the LPS360-M series of 360W AC/DC power supplies has been released by Artesyn Embedded Technologies. The open frame devices, which have a 76.2x127mm footprint, are available in 12, 15, 24, and 48V adjustable outputs with a 5V standby output at 2A and a 12V fan output at 1A. 

Artesyn Embedded Technologies is demonstrating a video transcoding and media processing platform at International Broadcast Equipment Exhibition (Inter BEE 2014). Developed in collaboration with Vantrix, the platform enables broadcast and communications service providers to deliver significantly more multiscreen content to users at a fraction of the cost.

The AVO75 series, from Artesyn Embedded Technologies, is a range of 75W fully-regulated eighth-brick DC/DC converters that bring high efficiency and thermal performance to cost-sensitive, small space, high current and low voltage telecomms network infrastructure applications. The AVO75 series can deliver up to 25A output current and a single adjustable output between 1.2 and 12V from a 2:1 wide range input of 36-75V.

Enabling communications service providers to add high density voice and video processing to their networks, a carrier grade media processing acceleration device has been released by Artesyn Embedded Technologies. While reducing power and space requirements, the SharpMedia 2U Platform allows service providers to meet consumers’ increasing demands. 

Claimed to be the industry’s most powerful AdvancedTCA (ATCA) open-standard server system, the Centellis 8840 has been released by Artesyn Embedded Technologies. The server system, which supports power and cooling for up to 600W per blade, features a 160G aggregate bandwidth capacity per blade today and will feature a 400G capacity in the future.

Focusing on the development of solutions for network functions virtualisation (NFV), Artesyn Embedded Technologies has joined the Wind River Titanium Cloud ecosystem. Members can shorten time-to-market for the deployment of NFV-based infrastructure by pre-integrating and validating hardware and software products with Wind River Titanium Server.

The testing of 100G ATCA technology, which is claimed to be an industry first, has been successfully completed by Artesyn Embedded Technologies. In a single open standards-based bladed server system, the technology enables next-gen applications in SDN and NFV deployments to achieve up to 4Tb/s aggregate throughput.
