ADC stakes claim as markets fastest & most accurate

Claimed to be the fastest, most accurate, lowest power A/D converter in the industry, the 16-bit AD7981 has been unveiled by Analog Devices. The company claims that the device is more than twice as fast as existing converters and provides error-free operation at temperatures of up to 175°C. The device, with sample rates up to 600-kSPS, scales power linearly using only 4.65 mW at a full speed of 600 kSPS and 70 µW at 10 kSPS.

Amplifiers integrate DSP for improved power efficiency

Designed for high-speed data acquisition systems which require a high level of accuracy, precision and power efficiency, a family of rail-to-rail amplifiers have been introduced by Analog Devices. The 100MHz ADA4805-1 (single) and ADA4805-2 (dual) amplifiers feature DPS which allows users to manage power consumption by shutting-down the amplifier between ADC samples.

Industry’s first MEMS gyroscope to withstand +175°C

Improving the productivity of oil and gas drilling equipment, Analog Devices has introduced what is claimed to be the first and only MEMS gyroscope specified to withstand temperatures of up to +175°C. The ADXRS645 operates from a 5V supply and can operate at +175°C for a minimum of 1,000 hours.

Multichannel ADCs suit battery-powered applications

Claimed to be the most power-efficient in their class, three ultra-low-power, multichannel, 12-bit, 1MSPS SAR ADCs have been unveiled by Analog Devices. The two, four and eight channel ADCs are designed for battery-powered applications including DAQ modules, handheld meters, field instruments, communications and medical devices such as portable electrocardiograms and heart rate monitors.
