Linear current regulators drive automotive LED arrays

Designed to drive automotive LED arrays, two series of adjustable linear current regulators hve been announced by Allegro MicroSystems Europe. The AEC-Q100 qualified A6274 and A6284 low-EMI ICs integrate an optional pre-regulator gate drive to dynamically and linearly control an external P-channel MOSFET, which extends the output power capability of a linear LED driver by moving most of the power losses to an external power FET.

IC drives two stepper motors or four DC motors

Able to drive two stepper motors or four DC motors, the A5988 quad DMOS full-bridge driver IC has been introduced by Allegro MicroSystems Europe. Each full-bridge output is rated up to 1.6A and 40V. The A5988 includes fixed off-time PWM current regulators, along with 2-bit nonlinear DACs that allow stepper motors to be controlled in full, half, and quarter steps and DC motors in forward, reverse and coast modes.

'Unique' LED driver integrates Hall-effect switch

Buck regulator supports automotive infotainment applications

The latest A8591 from Allegro MicroSystems Europe is a buck regulator IC designed to meet the power-supply requirements of the latest automotive infotainment systems. It is available in fixed 5V or 3.3V regulated output voltage configurations. The new AEC-Q100 qualified device provides all the control and protection circuitry of a 2A regulator circuit with ±1% output voltage accuracy.
