Infineon and Aurora Labs partner on predictive maintenance solutions for automotive industry
Infineon Technologies AG and Aurora Labs announced their collaboration to enhance predictive maintenance solutions in the automotive industry.
This partnership aims to elevate safety standards for drivers through the implementation of Aurora Labs’ Line-of-Code Intelligence AI technology on Infineon’s 32-bit TriCore AURIX TC4x family of microcontrollers (MCUs).
This collaboration promises car manufacturers a safer driving experience by employing AI-driven automated processes across the software lifecycle of vehicles. The solution supports real-time monitoring and response to software failures at both MCU- and ECU-levels in compliance with WP29 requirements. It focuses on protecting applications and over-the-air updates, thereby helping to prevent malicious attacks and hardware safety failures.
Zohar Fox, CEO and Co-founder of Aurora Labs, stated, “We have partnered with Infineon to enhance the driver experience through predictive safety maintenance using AI capability. Our solution streamlines OEM software development at lines-of-code and hardware peripheral resolution, enabling the development of safer systems in line with ASIL-D standards.”
Thomas Schneid, Senior Director Software, Partner and Ecosystem Management at Infineon, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “As a leader in automotive semiconductors, teaming up with Aurora Labs allows us to introduce a new dimension of safety in predictive maintenance applications for vehicles. Our solution, integrating Infineon’s AURIX MCUs and Aurora Labs’ software, offers car manufacturers and drivers increased safety assurance for critical automotive applications such as steering, braking, and airbags.”
The new solution utilizes Infineon’s AURIX TC4x family of MCUs, renowned for their real-time safety and security performance. These MCUs are tailored for the latest eMobility, advanced driver assistance, automotive E/E architectures, and cost-effective AI applications. Aurora Labs’ AI- and ML-based features are integrated into the AURIX TC4x PPU, a dedicated AI accelerator, ensuring that these features do not interfere with OEM applications running on the CPU.
