AWR Gifts Software to IMS 2011 Power Amplifier and Wideband Balun Student Design Contest Participants and Winners
AWR Corporation, the innovation leader in high-frequency EDA, announced today that it will gift fully-functional, one-year, personal-use term licenses of its popular Microwave Office and Visual System Simulator (VSS) software suites--inclusive of AXIEM 3D planar EM software--to the top 3 winners / winning teams of the International Microwave Symposium (IMS) 2011 High-Efficiency Power Amplifier and Wideband Balun Student Design Competitions. This annual competition challenges students to apply design techniques learned in the classroom to create a novel product.
“AWR views the IMS Student Design Competition as an opportunity to provide students with hands-on software experience that both professors and future employers consider not only necessary but mandatory for success,” said Sherry Hess, AWR vice president of marketing. “Our goal is to aid the students’ design tasks not only for this competition, but beyond it when these talented individuals enter the professional world.”
In preparation for the design competition, AWR is also gifting semester-based, personal-use term licenses of its microwave & RF software design products to all full-time students wishing to participate in either of these competitions.
