Sharp is showcasing its latest innovations from display technology and LED technology for general lighting at electronica 2010 at the Data Modul (Hall A3, stand 207) and Rutronik (Hall A5, stand 159 & 260) stands. The close cooperation at electronica should enables us to support our partners, particularly in generating more business with our components - something both of us will reap the benefits from, Franco Morotti, General Manager Business Unit Consumer Industrial Distribution of Sharp Microelectronics Europe, explaining this new approach. Via the direct presence at the partners' stands visitors will get first-hand detailed technical information on Sharp products, while commercial aspects can be discussed directly with the distribution partners.
At the Rutronik stand the focus of Sharp's presentation is on LED technology with the entire portfolio on display including white-light LEDs for general lighting uses, coloured LEDs for decorative lighting and accessory components from a few system partners such as lenses, reflectors, cooling elements and control units. As a highlight Sharp is presenting new high power LED modules from the Minizeni series for the first time. In addition the stand's meeting rooms will be lit with Sharp LED lamps, which are also fitted with a Plasma Cluster Ionisation unit for air cleansing.

At Data Modul, by contrast, the displays are the focus of the Sharp presentation. The entire TFT LCD line-up, of up to 60 inches in size, for e-signage applications is on view. Main focal points are: Industry TFT LCDs with LED backlighting including the new 1200 cd/m² bright 12 inch display as a highlight, HAP Modules as simple Plug & Play solution including the integration and control of the display as well as the new Memory LCDs, which only require around 1% of the power consumption of conventional TFT LCDs and are thus particularly suitable for low power applications. In addition to this Sharp is presenting the small solar panel series for the power supply of energy harvesting applications and portable energy selfsufficient devices.

Also, beyond the scope of electronica, Sharp is planning to cooperate more with partners in marketing communication, whereby the cooperation should not remain restricted to exhibitions. In-house events, advertising, online marketing and joint development projects open up opportunities to tap into new areas of application and markets.
