The Nanotechnology Knowledge Transfer Network (NanoKTN) is delighted to announce it has reached the milestone of 3,000 members. NanoKTN members have access to focus groups and events and play a key role in contributing to UK Government strategies and policies. The NanoKTN supports the exploitation and commercialisation of micro and nanotechnologies by informing, facilitating innovation and encouraging collaborations between suppliers and users.
The UK has long been a pioneer in technology innovation and the Government funded organisation is dedicated to supporting the growth of UK capabilities and raising awareness of nanotechnology both in the UK and internationally.

Jonathan Alaria, a postdoctoral research student at the University of Liverpool recently registered for free membership, marking the NanoKTN’s 3,000th member. To celebrate, the NanoKTN has offered Jonathan a complementary pass to a NanoKTN event of his choice.

Alaria comments, “Although I have only just joined the NanoKTN, I have already seen the benefits of membership including free access to a wide range of reports and articles relevant to the MNT sector. For me personally, it was the appeal of having a forum both online and at events where I could interact with people in the UK and look for potential partners. The NanoKTN is exactly what the industry needs and so far being a member has been incredibly helpful.”

Becoming a member of the NanoKTN offers direct access to key contacts within market leading companies and academic institutions, as well as access to a broad range of seminars, workshops and events, held in conjunction with prestigious trade-bodies such as the IET and JEMI. The NanoKTN hosts a number of events throughout the year and by participating, members form an integral part in building and maintaining sustainable supply chains.

“What makes the NanoKTN stand out is its multi-disciplinary approach to enhancing innovation. Rather than following the silo approach of narrowly-focused strategies, the NanoKTN recognises the importance of collaborations across many varied markets and multiple disciplines to help solve challenges faced by the diverse MNT community. This also provides our members with access to knowledge from a number of different market sectors,” explains Dr Alec Reader, Director the NanoKTN.
