MSC supports new Qseven specification 1.20
MSC Vertriebs GmbH, one of the founding members of the Qseven™ consortium supports the extended and recently released Qseven™ specification version 1.20. Hand in hand with the specification update the Qseven™ reference platform for system designers is being reworked and adapted to support all aspects of the new standard. In the future all MSC Qseven™ module variants will comply with the most recent version of the specification.
One Bernhard Andretzky, Product Marketing Manager Embedded Computer Technology, MSC Vertriebs GmbH said: „We focus very strong on Qseven products. With the actual specification we serve our customer needs for flexibility and software compatibility to other form factors.“
MSC offers its Qseven™ module family MSC Q7-US15W in two performance grades based on the power saving Intel® Atom™ processors Z530 (1.6GHz) and Z510. The boards also integrate the System Control Hub Intel® US15W featuring the Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 500.
MSC Vertriebs GmbH, congatec AG and SECO were the founder members of the Qseven™ consortium, which was formed two years ago. The open Qseven™ standard defines power saving computer-on-modules in the compact form factor 70 mm x 70 mm. Today the consortium counts 23 members in total. Simultaneously to the presentation of the first embedded modules from MSC during electronica 2008 the Qseven™ consortium has introduced the Qseven™ Design Guide, the Board Support Package for the Embedded Software Application Interface (ESAI) and the Qseven™ reference platform developed by MSC Vertriebs GmbH.
