Infineon & UMC to manufacture power semiconductors

To meet the demands of automotive applications for more functionality and safety as well as compact and cost-optimised solutions, the SPT9 130nm process technology combines MCU intelligence and power technology on a single die. The technology is suitable for the intelligent control of small electric motors such as those used for power window lifts, wipers, sun roofs, power seats, fan/blower control and oil and water pumps, as well as airbags, and audio amplifiers.
