Growth in sales of production equipment and productivity solutions to electronics manufacturers has led to a move to new and larger headquarters for Adaptsys. Based in Petersfield, Hampshire, the new premises provide over seven times more space for Adaptsys to offer enhanced product demonstration areas and customer training, as well as more room for the overhaul and refurbishment of customers’ equipment.
“The new Training Centre is fully-equipped with production equipment including device programmers, tape & reel, and pick & place machines for off-site training of customers’ operators and technicians. This prevents down-time on customers’ own equipment and gives greater choice and flexibility.” explained Simon Wells, Customer Support Manager at Adaptsys.

The new facility includes video-conferencing equipment which enables customers to participate in live discussions and training with principals based in the US and Europe. By investing in video-conferencing Adaptsys can provide the highest level of interaction between customers and principals whilst supporting green initiatives to reduce travel and maintain a low carbon footprint.

Adaptsys will provide a range of training programmes including seminars, hands-on workshops and customer-specific training. Customers will also be able to choose to have existing equipment overhauled and refurbished on-site or at Adpatsys’ new headquarters.

The increase in demand, particularly for automated and manual tape and reel machines, is in response the wider use of surface-mount devices and smaller manufacturing batch sizes. By taping smaller quantities of components customers can prevent waste whilst benefiting from the productivity advantage that automated pick and place offers.
