On 13th March 2025, Electronic Specifier and #women4ew successfully hosted their joint Women in Tech Forum at embedded world, bringing together professionals from across the embedded systems community for an engaging and insightful event.

The forum was introduced and moderated by Electronic Specifier’s Managing Editor, Paige West, during which attendees heard from two keynote speakers:

  • Helen Duncan, CEO at Blueshift Memory, spoke on ‘The non-linear career – taking an unconventional route to become CEO’, sharing insights on how she moved from engineering to leadership through a varied career path.
  • Sakshi Madaan, Product Manager at Anders Electronics, explored ‘The Power of Perspective: Big-Picture Thinking to drive Innovation’, encouraging attendees to adopt a broader outlook to foster innovation, drawing on real-life examples from her own journey.

The session continued with a panel discussion featuring Angela Raguse, Fraunhofer IIS; Stefani Eisele, Director Sales, EMEA, Altera; and Nadja Eder, Managing Director, SchuhEder Consulting; Duncan and Madaan also joined the panel lineup. This was followed by a rich and engaging Q&A session, where attendees connected with the panellists, discussing industry challenges and shared experiences.

At the end of the talks, a networking session was held, providing an excellent opportunity for engineers, industry professionals, and students to connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen professional relationships – reinforcing the importance of supporting women in embedded systems.

Reflecting on the event, West said: “The #women4ew event was a fantastic celebration of women in the embedded space, featuring great keynotes, an excellent panel discussion, and insightful questions from the audience. The event wrapped up with a brilliant networking session, highlighting the power of community and collaboration in our industry.”

Now in its third year, #women4ew continues to offer a dedicated space for women in embedded systems to connect, learn, and support one another. Electronic Specifier also actively champions women in STEM, launching its first Women in Tech initiative in 2023. This led to the creation of a Women in Tech LinkedIn group and further collaborations, including a Women in Tech forum at electronica 2024 where it partnered with Women in Electronics.

At embedded world 2025, Electronic Specifier was proud to continue this commitment by partnering with #women4ew. The success of this event highlights the growing momentum behind supporting diversity in the industry.
