Celebrating 100 inspiring UK female entrepreneurs
Small Business Britain's f:Entrepreneur #iAlso100 campaign for 2024 has spotlighted 100 of the UK's most inspiring female entrepreneurs.
These dynamic women balance their business ventures with a myriad of other responsibilities, demonstrating extraordinary versatility and dedication.
Among this diverse group are standout marketing entrepreneurs like Nazia Anwar of Social Blox, who is dedicated to equipping communities and non-profits with the digital tools and skills necessary for transformative change.
This year's lineup showcases an impressive array of women leading businesses in sectors ranging from AI and sustainability to art, law, and engineering. Notable names include Elena Sinel, the founder of Teens in AI, and Helen Tonks of Hydraulics Online, who are making significant strides in their respective fields.
The Government-backed Rose Review's findings reveal a notable increase in women-led businesses, with over 150,000 new companies started in 2022 – a significant leap from the figures in 2018. Small Business Britain’s research further underscores this trend, showing that 39% of female entrepreneurs sought more flexibility and improved work-life balance, with 86% reporting increased happiness as a result.
Michelle Ovens CBE, Founder of Small Business Britain, remarked: “There has been a significant increase in the number of female entrepreneurs in the UK over the past few years – women who make essential contributions to our economy, and who inspire so many along the way.”
Despite facing daily challenges, these women exemplify resilience and are pivotal to the future of the UK economy. The f:Entrepreneur campaign aims to highlight their successes and the profound impact they have on their communities.
Launched in 2017, the f:Entrepreneur campaign aims to raise awareness about the incredible female business owners across the country. These women often lead purpose-driven businesses and contribute to their communities through various means like volunteering and mentoring. Delivered by Small Business Britain, the campaign offers events, training, and networking opportunities to enhance skills, capabilities, and confidence.
