Antenova Provides Embedded GPS to Digital Camera Unit from Blackroc Technology
Antenova announced its M10264 GPS RADIONOVA RF Antenna Module has been selected by Blackroc Technology for their C32M/G 2 Megapixel Camera for the PsionTeklogix Workabout Pro range of rugged handheld computers. Antenova’s M10264 GPS RF Antenna Module provides embedded GPS capability to the C32M/G camera for the capture of geotagged images.
“A“Reliability, robustness and low power consumption are essential performance requirements for handheld computers and data capture devices,” stated Tony Jephcott, Managing Director of Blackroc Technology. “The small size, accuracy and reliable performance of the module coupled with the fact that it easily integrated into our existing design and form factor made it the ideal choice for adding GPS to our C32M camera. Developed with enhanced GPS functionality, the camera features a backup powered sleep mode that is automatically entered whenever the C32M/G is turned off, which allows the GPS to perform a warm boot at next turn on thereby reducing the time to first fix to as low as 10 seconds. And the SBAS (Satellite Based Augmentation System) software provides improved accuracy from standard GPS of around 15 metres to between 1-2 metre accuracy.”
McCray added, “Geotagging photos with location coordinates is rapidly becoming a popular application for GPS technology, both in the consumer and enterprise sectors. And Antenova’s range of GPS RADIONOVA RF Antenna Modules offers a selection of complete GPS system solutions in small size and low profile form factors without sacrificing performance for intelligent integration of GPS into digital cameras.”
