Link Microtek's new filters protect TV signal from 4G interference
Link Microtek has launched a family of high-performance filter products for protecting Freeview TV channels from interference when 4G mobile phone networks are rolled out across the UK. Designed to prevent the new 4G LTE signal at 800MHz from affecting digital terrestrial TV reception, the new LYNX filters provide the professional installer with a complete range of multi-dwelling and single-dwelling interference-mitigation solutions.
The The multi-dwelling filters are sealed to IP65 standard and have an operating temperature range of -20 to 65degC, making them suitable for either indoor or outdoor use. Incorporating brackets for pole or wall mounting, the filters are installed between the receiver antenna and amplifier/distribution equipment.
The single-dwelling versions are designed for easy DIY installation between the existing antenna cable and TV receiver. They are equipped with Velcro tape to facilitate mounting and can also be supplied with a separate 140mm-long cable for flexible placement.
All of the LYNX filters feature low insertion loss and high rejection of the unwanted LTE signals and are therefore ideal for the most challenging locations, especially where DVB-T Freeview TV reception is marginal and the likelihood of interference is increased by the presence of a 4G mast in the vicinity.
