CSR plc (LSE: CSR) today announced that ID8-Mobile’s extremely slim Bluetooth headset, the MoGo Talk HD1, will feature CSR’s headset audio platform, the BC6145. As well as enabling the ultra-thin form factor, the BC6145 allows users of the MoGo Talk HD1 to take advantage of features such as A2DP for music streaming, voice prompts, and advanced noise reduction. With CSR’s technology, ID8-Mobile has delivered a unique headset product that combines leading functionality with stylish, minimalist design for mainstream consumers. At just 5mm thin, the MoGo Talk HD1 is one of the thinnest and most stylish headsets in the world.
/> With audible voice prompts driven by CSR’s on-chip CPU, the MoGo Talk HD1 lets users know the status of their device, for example: guiding the user through the pairing process and pairing status, battery status and power on/off. Voice prompts thereby help to make the headset intuitive to use.

“Our aim was to create the most advanced headset with an appealing minimalist design without compromising on technical features. CSR’s BC6145 headset audio platform has enabled us to achieve exactly that, as it combines all of the latest audio technology advancements with the smallest physical dimensions possible,” commented Stuart Nixdorff, CEO of ID8-Mobile. “CSR has helped us satisfy the demands of our customers for a headset that combines sophisticated design alongside groundbreaking technology.”

BC6145 uses CSR’s latest DSP-based sixth-generation CVC audio enhancements to increase the intelligibility of speech in the presence of background noise. CVC includes bi-directional noise suppression which includes near-end noise suppression to directly benefit users by reducing the noise within the incoming audio. This is in addition to the more usual far-end noise suppression which reduces the noise heard by the caller at the other end of the line. Other intelligibility features in the BC6145 include ultra-low power Wind Noise Reduction (WNR) and an advanced speech intelligibility feature. The WNR is auto-detecting, engaging only when wind noise is detected and then requiring only a minimal power overhead. The power required during the “listening” state is almost negligible which preserves the battery life while delivering a convenience feature that means the user does not have to “duck into a doorway” to hear their conversation.

CVC provides enhanced speech intelligibility which is important to factors such as listening fatigue and “dual tasking.” Increased speech intelligibility reduces the distraction of listening and aids dual tasking situations – such as driving while conducting a hands free conversation.

The MoGo Talk HD1 also features BC6145’s A2DP for mono music streaming. On a whim, consumers can stream their music collection through their headset with crystal clear audio quality.

“Consumers have become increasingly demanding and expect the best audio quality possible on their headsets no matter how noisy their environment is. We’ve always prioritized consumer’s preferences,” said Anthony Murray, Senior Vice President of CSR’s Audio and Consumer Business Unit, “and as a result, the features of BC6145 such as A2DP and speech intelligibility deliver the most optimised audio experience. Supporting ID8-Mobile to create the MoGo Talk HD1 has enabled the benefits of these latest technological developments to be passed immediately to the end consumers.”

The MoGo Talk HD1 also distinguishes itself through the sleek design of its executive, credit card-sized charging case. The charging case battery packs an additional 10 hours of talk time and is designed to match the elegant look of the headset. Combining functionality with minimalist design, the charging case opens up with a simplified slide-mechanism, which can easily be operated single-handedly.
