LPRS will be launching its new low cost easyRadio Integrated Controller – eRIC - at the Fortronic RF and Wireless Technical Forum on June 25th at the Williams F1 conference centre near Oxford. At half the size and half the cost of the long established and field proven easyRadio range, eRIC remains true to the easyRadio brand with many of the easyRadio features and benefits of eRA.
This cleverly designed transceiver uses system on chip technology so an external processor is not required. Uniquely, the chip has been divided, giving 50% to the easyRadio configurable settings and communication software, and leaving the rest available for engineers to add their own application code.
eRIC is an exceptional value RF transceiver intended for embedded high-volume applications in the “Smart” or “IoT” arena including; building and lighting control, security, home monitoring and medical products, vehicle and contents monitoring, renewable energy control and remote sensor systems.

eRIC continues to use the popular and simple to use easyRadio programming protocols, operates in the
ISM frequency bands (Europe 433 and 868MHz, USA 315 and 915MHz), meets ETSI and FCC requirements, has pin interface compatibility with existing easyRadio Advance (eRA) products, has a simple to use and customer configurable and programmable I/O interface, is designed for low power operation from batteries and has a built-in temperature sensor.

eRIC has been designed to simplify end product manufacture and is packaged for SMD assembly, measuring just 20x15x5mm.

Despite its small size and low cost eRIC still offers many advanced features including; secure communications using optional AES 128 bit data encryption, received signal strength indicator and carrier detect, network ID and digital channel select.

John Sharples, Managing Director of LPRS, comments, “We are very excited by the introduction of our new eRIC product. It builds on our many years of experience of supplying easyRadio wireless modules, incorporates a lot of useful customer ideas and will be a significant product introduction into the high-volume wireless control and communication markets. Compatibility with our very successful easyRadio protocols ensures our existing customers a smooth transition and gives new customers the ability to configure operating frequency, bandwidth, output power, and data-rate ensuring multiple devices can communicate free from interference with each other and other nearby RF devices.”

In addition to designing and manufacturing the highly successful easyRadio Advanced (eRA) wireless modules in the UK, the full LPRS product range now includes, Raspberry Pi and Arduino Shield wireless platforms, the IQRF range of wireless networking components, the IQVC range of visual control panels together with antenna, wireless key fobs and a wide range of sensor products.
