Cypress Envirosystems Invited to Demonstrate Wireless Pneumatic Thermostat at Sempra Energy-San Diego Gas and Electric Energy Showcase
Cypress Envirosystems, a subsidiary of Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (Nasdaq: CY), announced today that it is one of 75 companies invited to present advanced energy-efficient technology at the Sempra Energy-San Diego Gas & Electric Energy Showcase. Cypress Envirosystems will demonstrate its innovative Wireless Pneumatic Thermostat (WPT) at the event on May 18 at the San Diego Convention Center. The WPT retrofits pneumatic HVAC systems to provide the benefits of modern Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems, but at a fraction of the cost and with virtually no disruption to building occupants. Interested parties can register for the event at www.sdge.com/business/energyshowcase.
CyprMost commercial buildings 10 years or older have pneumatic thermostats that require manual adjustment, meaning that someone has to manually lower and raise the thermostat to adjust the temperature. Retrofits using conventional DDC technology are extremely costly and often infeasible due to exposure to asbestos and other disruptions to tenants, whereas the Wireless Pneumatic Thermostat can be installed in under 20 minutes without opening up walls or ceilings. More information is available at www.cypressenvirosystems.com/products-wpt.php.
“We are pleased to present at these two prestigious events,” said Harry Sim, CEO of Cypress Envirosystems. “If you consider that approximately 70 percent of existing commercial buildings across the nation use inefficient pneumatic technology, you quickly realize the opportunity for energy and maintenance savings that the smart control of our WPT offers. With demand response incentives, businesses and government agencies can achieve fast payback in less than a year – delivering the winning combination of conserving energy and saving money.”
Cypress Envirosystems will also demonstrate its full line of control and monitoring solutions at the Energy Showcase, including its Wireless Gauge Reader, Wireless Steam Trap Monitor, Wireless Transducer Reader, Wireless Battery Monitor and Wireless Freezer Monitor.
