AI multimedia console responds to user emotions
The industry’s first AI multimedia console designed to respond to the emotions of its user has been developed by EmoSHAPE. Powered by Android, the EmoSPARK Cube is based on eight primary human emotions: joy, sadness, trust, disgust, fear, anger, surprise and anticipation. The device features what the company describes as the ‘Emotion Processing Unit’ (EPU), an MCU that manages and processes all of the emotions of the AI.
By detecting and storing the user’s emotional response to audio and visual media via the featured IP Camera, the console creates an emotional profile for the user, which it uses to provide recommendations. For example, if the EmoSPARK Cube senses the user is sad, it can recommend audio or visual media that previously made the user happy. Via a communication grid, the device can connect with other Cubes with similar emotional profiles and share media.
Unlike other voice recognition devices, the console interacts with the user on a conversational level. Featuring access to freebase and Wikipedia, the EmoSPARK Cube can answer questions about more than 39 million topics. To provide the user with accurate weather forecasts, the device connects to the NASA satellite, MODIS.
Brian Fitzpatrick, Private Investor, EmoSHAPE, commented: "Other products in this area are script-based, with a simple yes-no structure that leaves them a bit cold. EmoSPARK is more interactive; we've injected humour and personality. Over time, this personality will evolve and develop; change and blend to become more like its owner. EmoSPARK is dedicated to creating positive emotions."
The EmoSPARK Cube is available now from EmoSHAPE’s website and priced at $315 or $375 with the IP Camera.
