Functional Safety. Two words that instil fear in a design engineer. It generally means interpreting complex standards, confusing terminology and seemingly endless calculations to develop a product robust enough to be presented to, and approved by, a certification body such as TÜV or Exida.

Analog Devices is pioneering the way in simplifying this design journey by bringing to market the world’s first Functional Safety certified DAC, the ADFS5758.

This webinar will look at the complexity and challenges of designing a traditional functionally safe analog output module. Analog Devices will then introduce the ADFS5758 and investigate the features and functions it incorporates to enable a 'black box' safety function, saving time, complexity and money for our customers.

Speakers:

Aidan Frost is a system applications engineer with Analog Devices’ process and factory automation business unit. Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, his areas of interest include mixed signal industrial I/O, power management and functional safety. He has worked extensively as both a product and system level applications engineer across data converters, power management, and software configurable I/O. He now focuses on industrial system level solutions, realising ADI’s I4.0 vision.
