Titan Tool Supply widefield stereo microscope
Titan Tool has announced the launch of the Model FX-3, an industrial-grade widefield stereo microscope, designed to facilitate various manufacturing and quality assurance remote visual inspection tasks.
The Model FX-3 produces both upright and optically correct images. It offers exceptional measurement performance, an unusually long focal length, and extended depth of field at lower magnifications. These combined features enhance end-user efficiencies when observing test articles and enable clearer viewing during micromanufacturing, assembly, and other remote visual inspection tasks. The microscope excels at distortion-free vision and effectively gathers natural light for crisp imagery in most applications.
The standard Model FX-3 features a built-in 1X objective lens and extra-wide field 10X eyepiece. All lenses are hard-coated and include built-in colour correction for enhanced image quality. Optional objectives, such as 0.5X, 1.5X, and 2X, can be purchased separately for different magnifications, as well as an optional 20X eyepiece and both 10X and 20X crosshair eyepieces. Collectively, these offer up to six unique additional magnification options.
In addition, the lightweight (3.5-lb.) standard Model FX-3 microscope stand, with its aluminium base plate and vertical post, ensures added stability, durability, portability, and ease of use. The microscope stand body rack and pinion focusing arrangement allows for adjustments of up to 9.5 inches above the base plate for more precise focusing. The Model FX-3's binocular tube features a 45-degree incline and is equipped with both diopter and variable inter-pupillary adjustments for more comfortable and customisable viewing.
This enhanced adaptability allows the Model FX-3 to flexibly accommodate a variety of working situations and manufacturing cell setups. The stand may also be modified to mount specialty stands onto machine tools using 0.800-inch diameter tubing or drill rods.
The Model FX-3 is also offered with several optional lighting systems, including a 150-Watt Halogen fibreoptic illuminator, fibreoptic ring light, bi-furcated fibreoptic light guide, fluorescent ring light, and LED ring illuminator.
The Model FX-3 industrial-grade widefield stereo microscope supports a variety of industrial, electronics, semiconductor, sensors and instrumentation, and photonics component manufacturing quality control and remote visual inspection tasks.
Specifically, the microscope may be used to help support the precision assembly and soldering of smaller or more delicate components, as well as micro welding, micro drilling, and circuit board analysis, helping end-users to identify defects, soldering issues, and component failures.
The Model FX-3 may also be used to support material surface inspections, by helping to detect imperfections, scratches, cracks, and other irregularities. It is also commonly specified for gemmology and jewellery visual inspections, as well as gemstone grading, authenticity determinations, and flaw or inclusion identifications.
