dSPACE tools achieve ISO 26262 certification
dSPACE has obtained ISO 26262 certification from TÜV Süd for three tools for ECU software validation.
The testing organisation confirms that the tools VEOS, the Real-Time Testing (RTT) test automation software, and the Platform API Package can be used in safety-related development projects according to ISO 26262:2018 for all automotive safety integrity levels (ASIL).
Certification enables users to simplify the qualification of their overall processes according to ISO 26262 with VEOS, RTT, and the Platform API Package. With very little qualification effort , they can use the tools in safety-critical projects and are supplied with safety manuals to support them in their deployment.
VEOS is a PC-based simulation solution for the validation of ECU software. It enables the simulation of a range of models - from functional models and networks of virtual ECUs to bus systems and vehicle models.
Real-Time Testing is Python-based real-time test automation software that can be used for both hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing. The Platform API Package provides interfaces to the dSPACE platforms, including VEOS and SCALEXIO, and enables model access and management. Whether in combination or individually, all three solutions are used in the increasingly complex development of safety-relevant systems and support users in establishing functional safety.
"With certification, we take a lot of effort out of our customers' hands when it comes to ISO 26262 compliance. Since the testing and validation of ECUs is particularly important in this context, we ensure that simulation and validation deliver trustworthy results. In addition to the newly certified tools, the AutomationDesk and SIMPHERA tools have already been certified to ISO 26262, so we have now taken another step forward in our strategy of providing customers with the best possible support for their tool qualification," explained Jann-Eve Stavesand, Head of Consulting at dSPACE.
