Hardware-in-the-loop project from R&S and Vector ensures safer ADAS testing

undefined

Rohde & Schwarz (R&S) and Vector Informatik are collaborating on closed-loop scenario testing of automotive radar sensors for ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) and autonomous driving. Powerful verification of safety-critical ADAS functions is made possible by Vector’s DYNA4 virtual test drive simulation platform coupled with the latest R&S radar moving object stimulation system.

Hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) testing is a technique used to accelerate the development of complex real-time embedded systems such as ADAS in situations where using a fully assembled vehicle is not possible or too costly, time-consuming or dangerous. Instead, the operation and behaviour of supporting systems are electronically simulated.

Two software packages from Anritsu for RF tests of 5G base stations

undefined

Anritsu Corporation introduces two software packages that enhance its Radio Communications Test Station MT8000A to support non-signalling RF tests of 5G base stations.

With the base station test (BST) suite for 5G new radio millimetre (RM) wave (mmWave) MX800045A and base station test suite for NR sub-6 GHz MX800046A installed, the MT8000A is an all-in-one measurement solution that shortens test times and lowers cost of test during manufacturing of 5G BTS radio units.

The MT8000A can conduct measurements that are compliant with 3GPP TS38.141-1 and TS38.141-2 with the software installed. Tests supported include Tx power, frequency error, EVM, TAE, ACLR, OBUE Rx tests, and Rx sensitivity.

Farnell, NI and Omega offer software and sensors T&M solution

undefined

Pico Technology has announced general availability of the PicoLog Cloud data logging software. The product enables users to set up and control captures on a source PC and then remotely view them on any number of client devices running the software.

The package reduces the need to research system compatibility, and saves time and money in temperature monitoring, reliability testing and product-lifecycle evaluation.

Farnell says it is the only global distributor offering these specific solutions.

By using the recommended testing set ups, engineers can simulate real-life environments to ensure product specifications, such as a longer life and higher reliability, are achieved.

Measuring precision protocol wander by evaluating time sync variation

undefined

Anritsu Corporation has added a function for precision protocol (PTP) wander, a metrics for evaluating frequency variations as low as 10 hertz to the PTP network time synchronisation error to the company's smallest-in-class 100Gbps Network Master Pro MT1000A.

5G networks require high real-time communications supporting anticipated new services in various industries, such as autonomous vehicles, smart factories, telemedicine, etc. PTP wander is a key index expressing long-term time synchronisation stability. Adding this improved time sync measurement to the MT1000A will play an important role in assuring 5G network quality.
