The DS1925 iButton temperature logger from Maxim Integrated is in stock at Mouser Electronics. The iButton temperature logger is a rugged, self-sufficient system that measures temperature and records the result in a protected memory section at a programmable rate. The system is ideal for logging temperatures in food safety, biological sciences, and medical and pharmaceutical product monitoring.

The temperature logger provides longer monitoring sessions compared to other data-logging products, while maintaining the desired sample rate.

Designers can store a total of 122 KBbytes of 8-bit readings or 61 Kbytes of 16-bit readings taken at equidistant intervals ranging from 5 minutes to 273 hours.

Additionally, the DS1925 offers 512 bytes of nonvolatile memory for storing application-specific information.

It is configured and communicates with a host computing device through the serial 1-Wire protocol, which requires only a single data lead and a ground return.

Designers can program the device to begin collecting data immediately, after a delay, or after a temperature alarm.

The DS1925 delivers high accuracy (±0.5 degrees Celsius) over a wide temperature range of -40 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius.

The device can measure battery life and retains measurements even if the battery life ends before the logger is replaced. Every DS1925 is factory-lasered with a guaranteed unique 64-bit registration number that allows for absolute traceability.

The durable stainless-steel 17.35mm × 5.89mm package is highly resistant to environmental hazards such as dirt, moisture, and shock.

The DS1925EVKIT Thermochron iButton Starter Kit, also available to order from Mouser, includes the basic hardware for quick evaluation of the included iButton device.

The easy setup process includes free downloadable 1-Wire drivers and the OneWireViewer demonstration software to communicate easily with the iButton device through a PC’s USB port.
