After the successful qualification of SWP/HCI tests on COMPRION’s “Spectro TP” in December, COMPRION is proud to announce that three further card compliance test benches were qualified by GlobalPlatform. The new test suites validate if a Smart Card is compliant to the GlobalPlatform UICC Configuration, UICC Contactless Extension and Mapping Guidelines.
The qualification was reached after COMPRION’s test suites successfully run against a variety of cards during the last GlobalPlatform TestFest.

GlobalPlatform supports market interoperability of applications on Smart Cards by defining a uniform infrastructure for their development, deployment and management. Card manufacturers can either test their new cards with a GlobalPlatform qualified test tool or they leave the testing to a qualified testing lab.

Michael Wehmeier, Managing Director at COMPRION states: As more and more NFC applications from MVNOs and service providers are deployed after the issuance of cards, it is important that applications are getting on the Smart Cards in a pre-defined and secure manner. In this way, our test solutions support the important interoperability process within the Smart Card market. We are delighted that our contribution has been recognised by the secure chip technology standards body, GlobalPlatform.”

Kevin Gillick, Executive Director at GlobalPlatform, added: “We would like to congratulate COMPRION for achieving this certification for its test benches. Testing compliance to a specification in this way helps to drive market adoption of new technologies as companies can have confidence that products validated by the GlobalPlatform UICC Compliance Programme will perform as required after launch.”
