The Digital TV Group's Broadcasting Conformance Test Lab (DTG Testing) has successfully tested the Rohde & Schwarz BTC and the R&S AVBrun D-Book test suite. D-Book describes the interoperability requirements for digital terrestrial broadcast receivers in the UK. The individual chapters contain detailed test scenarios for testing the functionality, behaviour and performance of these receivers. Receivers that pass these tests can offer disturbance-free TV reception.

The significance of D-Book can be seen in the fact that many countries have adopted the test requirements with practically no modifications.

The automated BTC solution is a single-box solution for performing precompliance tests in line with D-Book Chapters 9 and 10. The usual time-consuming and expensive DTG D-Book test setups consisting of many individual instruments are no longer necessary.

This test solution can be used to fully verify the design and functionality of a broadcast receiver before it undergoes the actual compliance testing. Customers can rely on the fact that the depth of testing is equivalent to the compliance testing at DTG Testing.

The DTG Testing accredited test house determines a receiver's conformance and issues the manufacturer a certificate to that effect. The R&S BTC and the R&S AVBrun D-Book test suite enables manufactures to minimise test times and the cost of compliance testing.

The BTC performs real-time audio/video analysis on test objects. The AVBrun D-Book test suite software automates these tests. The modular design provides a high degree of scalability, allowing the BTC to be configured for any customer requirement. The repeatable tests make it possible to quickly and reliably perform otherwise time-consuming conformance and logo tests.
