RMS clamp multimeter enables fine resolution measurements
The CM11 TRUE RMS AC/DC Clamp Multimeter from Benning has been added to Conrad’s expanding range of test and measurement equipment. The compact and ergonomic handheld unit offers measurement resolution of 0.1 mA AC/DC and uses a current clamp measuring method that avoids the need for split wires.
This makes it a suitable tool for engineers carrying out installation, maintenance and fault detection work in both industrial and domestic applications such as specialist fire and alarm equipment where there is a growing need to be able to make quick and easy fine resolution measurements.
The Benning CM11 is able to measure load currents of up to 20AAC and 10ADC and process signal currents of 4 to 20mA without interruption of the current loop. The unit is also able to make other measurements including voltage (0.01V to 600V) and resistance (0.1ohms to 600Kohms); acoustic continuity testing is also possible.
The TRUE RMS measurement method used by the CM11 gives enhanced accuracy versus a standard RMS approach often used in test equipment.
This is particularly important in industrial environments where non-linear loads may generate a reactive power in the mains leading to misleading measurements being taken.
Further useful additional functions include HOLD, MIN, MAX storage, ZERO (null balance) and a switchable display illumination.
A large clamp opening of 23mm enhances convenience in use and the unit is supplied with 4mm safety measuring leads, batteries and a high quality storage pouch.
Benedikt Sehr, Product Manager, Category Business Supplies commented: “The BENNING CM11 is an important addition to our test and measurement portfolio. By offering TRUE RMS measurements with high resolution and without the need to break into the circuit, it helps engineers gather all the information they need with confidence, speed and ease. With its range of other measurement and diagnostic capabilities it offers the potential to give a single instrument solution.”
