electronica 2014: Spectrum analysers, scopes on launch pad
Rigol Technologies EU will deploy a full range of its products at the upcoming electronica exhibition in Munich. The lineup will include new products including two models of the DSA800 Spectrum Analyser Series. Mixed Signal Oscilloscopes (MSO) and a PC Software to perform standard measurements for example on switching power supplies will also premiere at the show.
The new models DSA832 and DSA875 expand the DSA800 Spectrum Analyser series to 3.2 and 7.5 GHz respectively. This enables direct measurements of higher performance signals and systems. SSB Phase Noise down as low as -98 dBc/Hz at a 10 KHz offset empowers engineers to more accurately analyse modulations and noise surrounding their signals of interest.
This becomes important for debugging and immunity testing of transceiver systems. The 7.5 GHz instrument enables engineers to investigate the 3rd harmonic of all of their critical 2.4 GHz applications. Resolution bandwidth settings down to 10 Hz means more precise visualization of low power RF signals. With the EMI-DSA800 option users can enable the EMI RBW settings and the Quasi-Peak filter across the entire spectrum of interest for compliance and immunity testing. Additional functionalities and options include a tracking generator.
Also claiming a spot on the Rigol stand will be the Mixed Signal Oscilloscope series MSO1000Z (70 and 100 MHz bandwidth) and MSO2000A (up to 300 MHz bandwidth). Designed to reduce test time in research, development and failure analysis applications, Rigol's DS2000A and DS1000Z series digital oscilloscopes make detecting signal and device characteristics easier than ever with comprehensive trigger functions, advanced hardware based real time waveform records, replay, search and analysis functions. The new multilingual user interface allows easy configuration of the oscilloscopes in the local language.
Rigol will also debut the Ultra Power Analyser Software, which enables users to perform standard measurements on switching power supplies. This new PC Software, in combination with Rigol oscilloscopes (series DS/MSO2000A, DS4000 or DS6000) allows customers to set up small test systems, which represent a reasonably priced alternative for measuring switching power supply parameters during the development and production phase. Various parameters of these power supplies must be tested and have to be compliant with the European standard IEC61000-3-2. Similar to the EMC pre-compliance testing during the design phase, the costs for certification and the time to market can be reduced with Rigol’s new test solution. With this, Rigol also helps to improve the product quality.
In addition, the company continuously extends the Ultra series software tools to allow users an easier access when using a PC. Products like Ultra Scope (for the Oscilloscope families) and Ultra Station (for Arbitrary Function Generators) are already available on Rigol’s website www.rigol.eu for free download. Subject to license and cost are the software packages Ultra Spectrum (for DAS series Spectrum Analyzers), Ultra IQ Modulation (for DSG3000 series RF Signal Generators), Ultra View (for DM3058 DMM series) and Ultra Acquire Pro (for the Data Collection System M300).
