Low-cost oscilloscope packs in six functions
The educational and hobbyist market will be the targets for Rohde & Schwarz’s R&S RTC1000 oscilloscope series which is available from today (January 16).The oscilloscope has been developed to meet the growing demand for more functions in one instrument.
“One of our aims is to help educationalists. They won’t have the budget to buy a high-end scope, so this oscilloscope meets their needs and their students needs,” explains Jithu Abraham, Product Manager at Rohde & Schwarz in the UK.
The compact oscilloscope can double as an eight-channel logic analyser, a four-channel pattern generator and a protocol analyser for I2C, SPI, UART/RS-232, CAN and LIN; and as a digital voltmeter, component tester, spectrum analyser and counter. With this eight-in-one instrument integration, users get more value with a minimal footprint on bench space.
The product will also continue Rohde & Schwarz’s penetration into the distribution channel.
“It will be in stock at RS Components and Farnell for customers who can buy online and want the product quickly,” says Abraham.
The R&S RTC1000 oscilloscopes are available in models from 50MHz to 300MHz. They are the first in the 1000 class to offer bandwidth upgrades via software license all the way to 300MHz bandwidth; these upgrades can be purchased as test needs increase over time. The two-channel oscilloscopes have maximum sample rates of 2Gsample/s and a memory depth of 2Msample.
All R&S RTC1000 models come as standard with LAN and USB interfaces.
